From the Principal
Kia Ora e te Whanau,
This time of the year is important for our students to stay focused on their learning and not be distracted from achieving. I encourage parents and guardians to check in on your child’s learning. Access the Parent Portal and follow up on notifications from the school regarding lateness and absences
Through the Lens of Our Student Leaders
Memories have been created at Rosehill College and as we near the end of our tenure, we reflect on how fast moving this year has been already. With the farewell of Mrs. Blakely at the end of term 2 and the introduction and the pōwhiri of our new principal Mrs. Suasua has seem to have been events that occurred only yesterday, but these are memories as senior leaders we will cherish forever.
We pose a thought to all our students of Rosehill College, ‘what are your memories that you are going to cherish forever’? This is our school, and as your senior leaders we need our school to continue to be a place that creates good memories that will make a positive impact on us.
Be kind to each other, be respectful and don’t get distracted by idol gossip and silly behavior that is going to have a negative impact on you and our school.
This is exam and study time – Be organized, work hard and ask questions!!

Recap: Blue Light Leadership Camp
Blue Light Leadership Camp was held in Ohakune on 1 to 4 August in collaboration with community partner Youthtown.
Teina Stephens (11PKU) comments “my experience at the Blue Light leadership camp is probably going to stick with me for the rest of my life”. She goes to say “some of my highlights at this camp were meeting so many different kinds of people, shy, outgoing, talkative, quiet and so many more”.
Blue Light’s Leadership programme included the opportunity to learn to ski or snowboard as “it is not normally available to many young people given the barriers of cost, transport, and the equipment and gear required, let alone any instruction” says Stefanie McGregor Blue Light Youth Worker and Mentor who accompanied the youth. The action-packed agenda also included other experiential activities such as rock-climbing obstacle courses, alongside gym challenges and games.
Blue Light’s leadership programme, through post-activity sessions, provides youth an opportunity to reflect back on the skills they have demonstrated and also allows them opportunities to practice key skills such as team-work, communication and respect for others - all strengths and skills that lead to happy, healthy and successful lives.
Teina was also the winner of the Peers' Choice Award. Ka pai!
We would like to give special thanks to Youthtown team for making this camp a success. For more information on Blue Light’s programmes click here, and for information about the Future Leaders camp in December click here.

Recap: Junior Basketball End of Season Celebration
After school on Tuesday we held our Junior Basketball End of Season Celebration.
There was an awesome turnout from parents and students, and most participated in adults vs students basketball games, until it was time to eat. We gave out awards in each team and thanked those who have supported our players throughout the season.
We will see you all again next year! Until then, keep balling!
Day of fun 2022
Save the date because the funnest time of year is almost here.
Funlab's Day of Fun is rolling 'round again on Tuesday 6 September
For one day only, we're offering 9 holes of mini golf at Holey Moley for ONLY $5. Every dollar from bookings made goes straight to supporting Youthline.
Book now or walk-in on the day and help us put the fun back into fundraising for our friends at Youthline.
Youth mental health initiatives are very close to Funlab's heart. Day of Fun allows people to come together in our venues, have a bit of fun and spend some time with friends.
Youthline is here to support all young people - this includes young people who are struggling (with their mental health or other issues), as well as young people who want to learn, grow and give back to their community. Funlab knows there's great value in young people coming together to do something active to support a healthy mental space.
