WELCOME TO MRS. DEARMAN'S CLASS

SENIOR ENGLISH

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR TEACHER!

I became an English teacher because I love two things: people and expression. The lessons I have learned by reading literature and writing have shaped who I am and have built my character. My goal this year is to create a reading culture in our classroom. I want you to find success, joy, and engagement in the act of reading. I believe literature is always relevant. I believe it builds the brain whether you desire to become a physicist or creative writer. I believe literature teaches you how to to think and how to examine that thinking. In short, I believe literature changes lives and makes us better people and thinkers. I have no doubt this year will be challenging and wonderful, and I could not be more excited about it.
