What is Teen Anxiety?
- Anxiety is a disruption on how the brain behaves and controls the signals it uses to identify danger to help you avoid it. This is normal from time to time and should not be taken seriously
- An anxiety disorder is excessive amount of worry from everyday activities over a long period of time, this is something that should be taken care of.
Statistics
- 1 in 8 teens suffer from anxiety.
- Untreated teens suffer from performing poorly in school, stray away from social activities, and other side affects.
Treatment
- Many teens seek professional guidance to overcome their anxiety, there are many treatments.
- Cognitive behavioral therapy and medications are best for treatment and usually are most effective, even though every teen is different.
