A Message from Mr. Finkle!
Hello DHS Community! I can't believe how quickly the year is going. Just yesterday it seems like I was outside at 6:00 am at the Senior Tailgate! It has been a great first 4 months and I look forward to the remainder of the school year. Below you will see a great number of opportunities for our students to shine! I look forward to seeing the greatness of our music programs and the beginning of the Winter Season! Also, the Faculty Talent Show is fast approaching and is an event that cannot be missed!
For more specific information, read the remainder of the Broadcast!
Come out and enjoy the MS/HS PTO's Holiday Craft Fair and then join the Class of 2020 for Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 7th.
Students can view their PSAT results beginning on Monday, December 9th on their College Board portal. Paper copies will not be available until mid-January. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's Guidance Counselor or Assistant Principal.
It's hard to believe that the second marking period is almost halfway done. Quarter 2 Interim Grades will be posted on the Parent Portal on Friday, December 13th.
The DHS Choir/Band Concert will take place on Tuesday, December 17th at 7:00 pm in the Performing Arts Center. It should be a wonderful evening of excellent musicianship and very entertaining.

NJ Student Learning Assessment for English Language Arts & Math Video Individual Student Reports
Delran High School is pleased to announce a new and innovative method for presenting parents/guardians with ISRs. This is in response to feedback from stakeholders during the two phases of outreach to the public conducted by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE).
In addition to traditional paper ISRs delivered by schools, video versions of the ISRs are currently available via the online parent portal (https://nj-results.pearsonaccessnext.com/login). The video score report communicates information from the ISR through animations and a voiceover in New Jersey’s top five languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, and Arabic. The portal will also allow for parents/guardians to track their student’s scores from year to year, beginning with spring 2019.
The printed ISRs that were delivered to parents/guardians on [insert date school/district mailed the pater ISRs] include the claim codes that parents/guardians can use to access their child's performance results in the NJ Parent Portal. Parents or guardians must create an account on the parent portal and use the claim code provided on the student’s ISR to add the results to their profile. Once parents/guardians create their accounts, they can add codes for additional students and/or administrations by adding new codes to their accounts.
We are excited about the opportunity to strengthen our efforts to effectively communicate your child’s performance on the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments with you.
Math Center Schedule Adjustment
Due to schedule changes for teachers, the Math Center will no longer be available during lunches beginning on Monday, December 9th. The Math Center will now be held after school on Mondays and Wednesdays until further notice. The center will be open and available after school on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 2:15-3:00. In addition, we will continue to offer peer tutoring from our National Honor Society students on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 2:15 - 3:00. We encourage any student needing extra help in math to take advantage of both of these free opportunities! Late busses are available Monday - Thursday each week.

DHS HAPPENINGS
Great Job Lady Bears
On Tuesday, November 26th, the Class of 2023 hosted the first, in a long time, Powder Puff Flag Football Game. Staff, students, and community members came out to watch the athleticism and school spirit of the 5 participating teams, complete with cheerleaders. Although all demonstrated amazing feats of strength, speed, and agility, ultimately the Senior Class won over the second place Junior Class. The Freshmen came in third place and the Sophomores came in fourth place. An honorable mention goes out to the faculty team as they represented true Bear spirit and pride. Jon Repece and Karen Rau, Freshmen Class Advisors, are very proud and grateful for the school and community's support for this event as they look to make this an annual event.

College Fairs Online
Help your students research and connect with great affordable colleges and universities around the USA for free without leaving the classroom at a virtual college fair. Chat with admissions counselors to ask questions about academics, campus life, financial aid, scholarships and more! Have your students register now so they don't miss it! Each student is also entered into a drawing for a $300.00 scholarship each time they ask a question on a virtual booth. They can go online to www.collegefairsonline.com now to register for the US Northeastern region fair that is happening from December 9th to December 14th.
FAFSA Now Available
The FAFSA is now available. It is never too early to begin the process of applying for financial aid. Pay attention to the deadlines given by each school where you plan to submit an application.
Naviance
All students 10th -12th have an account.

Seniors and Juniors can see upcoming college visitations and request to attend directly in Naviance.
All students should be building their personal activity resume.
Ask your student to share with you what they are doing in Naviance.
College Planning
Is your senior ready to send out college applications this fall? Click here to review what to do this summer to prepare for college admissions.
