Dear Jaguar Families,
This has been a very busy week leading up to our winter break. We started our week off on a high note with the A Cappella group, Ball in the House. They were amazing and got the kids excited and at a high energy level to learn. They performed the most amazing songs and also taught the students the history of A Cappella.
On Wednesday, the 4th grade orchestra performed for us and it was such a treat. Those kids have worked hard to get to this point and it paid off. Additionally, on Wednesday morning the 2nd graders hosted us at their school store. There were many cool items for sale and their attention to detail was amazing.
Wednesday afternoon we had an all school gingerbread making extravaganza! What an energy packed event! Thank you to all the parent volunteers who coordinated and assembled all the frosting and candy.
On Friday the entire school headed out for their holiday Peacemakers Tour. Seeing the joy on people's faces as the kids sang filled my heart with so much joy. It was the perfect way to end the day before our break.
I wish all our Jaguars and their families a relaxing and fun filled week off. We will see you all back here on January 2nd.
Happy Holidays!

Thank you PTO!
I would like to take a minute to thank our very generous PTO for bringing Ball in the House to our students. Their music was amazing as always and they took time to teach the kids about the history of different types of A Cappella music. It is safe to say the students and staff had a wonderful time.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
DAILY REMINDERS:
Smart watches and phones should be in backpacks during the day.
Please label your child's clothing and water bottles. We are hoping to keep our lost and found from growing any larger.
Please send your students to school with a water bottle and a snack each day. We have bottle filling machines that students can use to refill as needed. Everyone has snack daily and should bring that in from home.
Remember also that you can update PickUp Patrol anytime. This is the way we reconcile attendance and run dismissal so please add any changes to your account in a timely manner.

Student Spotlight- 2nd Grade
Recently, second grade students have been writing on the themes of their unit which included needs vs. wants, saving vs. spending, producers and consumers, and some product descriptions. Below is a sampling of their hard work!
Sometimes you can regret spending your money. If you can’t afford something like a LEGO set and you save $10.00 and it’s $85.98. If you spend $8.00 on a grande Starbucks hot cocoa, you’ll only have $2.00 left! You’ll need $83.98 instead of $75.98! So, if you can’t afford something and you don’t spend your money on bogus things like hot chocolate, you won’t have to do 35 chores. So make sure that you spend your money wisely, or you’ll regret everything you buy. –Abby
If you save money you can buy something you really want. Needing is more important than wanting. You might want stuff you might not need. If you work hard and save your money you will get what you want. –Jack
One of the things you can make out of model magic is a snowman holding a pizza! You can get them at the school store on December 20th. Come shop at the school store for model magic snowmen and animals! –Gabe
If there is something you want, you can get a job to make money. For example you can build a house, be a street performer or babysit. People can get what they want. If they get a bunch of money they could get a car. If they have a little money they could get a toy for a kid. Workers get money from their boss. –Mack
The second and third graders are creating model magic sculptures for the school store. They are selling them on December 20th. There will be enough for everybody, and maybe even extra sculptures. I hope you shop and have fun! –Will
We create with model magic for the school store. We are making snow sculptures for boys and girls in Johnson School 4th and 3rd grade. Second grade is in charge of the store. –Jayla
Producers make goods or offer services like walking dogs or offering food and water. Producers also make things like clothes, shoes and furniture. People buy the stuff. The people who buy stuff are called consumers. –Shey
