Cedar Grove Friday Flash
December 15, 2017
Dear Cedar Grove Families,
It was great to see so many parents last night at our winter concert at Clarksburg High School. The students in instrumental music did a fabulous job playing their music pieces, and our choral singers shared their beautiful voices as they sang festive holiday songs. We are so thankful and appreciative of the hard work and efforts put forth by our students, Ms. Jackson, Mr. Gillenwater, and piano accompanist Everett Williams Jr., a retired choral music teacher from Clarksburg High School, to make this such special event.
Parents, please note that interim grades will be available on the parent portal as of December 20. You will still receive a paper copy of the interim; however, for the last two quarters, we will honor our green school efforts and discontinue the paper copies. In the future, you will need to access the parent portal for this information. Last October, letters from MCPS were mailed to parents and instructions were provided on on how to create an account in the portal with the user name and password contained in the letter. The portal can be found using the following link: https://portal.mcpsmd.org. You will need to click on "Create Account" and agree to the terms. Then you will need to complete the parent information and link your child or children. If you have an existing account because you have a middle or high school student, please do not create another account. In this case, you would add your elementary child or children in Account Preferences within the current account. Please note that if you have an MCPS email address, it will not work in the portal; a personal email must be used.
Mrs. Hirschhorn is excited to introduce her Media Monthly newsletter! Every month we'll discuss what's happening in the media center, including new books, new technology, and our digital literacy program.
