Year 6 netball success
The Year 6 netball team were back after a lengthy break. They should have played 2 games against both Ysgol Pen y Garth and Llandough, but unfortunately Pen y Garth pulled out. It meant that we could play a longer game of 4 quarters against Llandough. The Westbourne players started nervously and made a few basic errors, the first quarter ended 2-1 to Llandough. Better play in the second quarter saw Westbourne go in the lead by 3 goals to 2 with Myles instrumental in getting the ball to Molly in the shooting circle. Molly continued her tremendous form in the third quarter scoring 5 goals. The strong defensive combination of Maninder and Chloe made it impossible for the Llandough team to respond. At the end of the game the final score was 11-3 to Westbourne with Molly being named as the 'Man of the Match'. Thank you to the pupils and staff of Llandough Primary for the league game and to the parents that came to support, they had plenty to cheer about! We look forward to our next round of matches on March 17th.
Skeleton visits Year 3 and 4
Dr. Jonathan Davies (Elizabeth's dad) came to visit year 3 and 4. He brought a full size skeleton with him and we were able to have a closer look at the bones in the human body.
Anna- It was good to be able to ask questions to a real doctor!
George- I liked being able to see the coccyx, it looked like a little tail.
Joshua- The skeleton was heavier than I expected it to be.
Morgan- We tried surgical masks on. I didn't realise they would be so soft.
Preeti- I liked learning about the bones, we were able to see them properly and up close on the skeleton!
Elizabeth- He took off the head and we were allowed to hold the skull!
We would like to say a big thank you to Dr. Davies for coming in and showing us the skeleton.

This week the children listened to ‘Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs’. They all enjoyed the story, were keen to discuss it and then did some colouring pictures.
