FULMORE MIDDLE SCHOOL

WEEK OF MARCH 31, 2019

FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Greetings Lively Falcon Nation,

I hope you had a wonderful and restful Spring Break. This time of year is extremely busy, the weather is warming up and the end of the year will be here before you know it. Hang in there, Falcons, we can do this!

STAAR Testing

STAAR Testing is quickly approaching. The first round of testing starts in April and the second round in May. Testing can cause anxiety for students, parents and teachers but you can de-stress at the next Parent Coffee. Join us next Friday April 5th from 8:15 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. in the Library to learn about ways to de-stress and relax. We would also like your input about school memorabilia we currently have, and if it should be relocated to a different location within our school. Parent Support Specialist Mariana Figueroa and I have some fun relaxing and activities to help manage any stress.

COUNSELOR'S CORNER

The Early College High School Program offers students the opportunity to graduate simultaneously with a high school diploma and an associate degree—all for free. ECHS is hosted through a partnership with Austin Community College and operates at six AISD Early College High Schools: Crockett, Eastside Memorial, Lanier, LBJ, Travis and Reagan.

In addition to earning college credit—up to 60 hours—and preparing for future professions, students save thousands of dollars in college costs. ECHS students are enrolled in both high school and college classes and receive support from AISD teachers and their ACC professors to ensure that they are on the right track to a successful college career.
