A Message from Principal Fraser

Dear 'Aikahi Ohana,

It is hard to believe that we are already into February. Time is flying by this school year and before we know it spring break will be here! There will be a lot happening over the next few months. We have everything from the Curriculum Fair to May Day and Smarter Balance Assessment (SBA) testing. The Curriculum Fair is back this year for the first time in almost a decade. The purpose of the event is to highlight and showcase projects that the students have been working on in school. Its a time to take a step back from our language arts and math curriculums and appreciate projects that the kids spend weeks and months creating. We hope you can make it to the event to see projects from all of our students. I've seen some of the projects come in already and its clear we are in for a special treat.

A really nice thing about the fair this year is that former principal Mrs. Roberta Tokumaru who retired in 2002 and many retired 'Aikahi teachers and staff members will come back to help set up the event. It will be really nice to honor them and and have their support. When Mrs. Tokumaru was principal, the 'Aikahi Curriculum Fair was a showcase event for the entire Department of Education. She is excited about sharing her experience with us and having her and the other teachers here will be like taking a walk down memory lane.

Please enjoy your weekend!

Mr. Fraser
