MRHS Animal Welfare Club helps the Chatham Pet Food Pantry
Having to surrender a pet because you cannot afford it during hard times is very sad!
On Friday night, December 7, the Monomoy Regional High School Animal Welfare Club will be helping the Chatham Pet Food Pantry by collecting donations of both wet and dry pet foods at the Chatham Christmas Stroll! Monetary donations are gladly accepted as well! We will also be assisting the Chatham Pet Food Pantry to collect donations for these pets at various locations in area towns thereafter!
On Friday, December 7, our table will be set up in front of the Cape Cod Five Bank on Main Street, Chatham by 4:30 PM, and we are hoping to fill the back of Subaru with enough donations to support people who are having difficulty feeding their pets around the holidays and beyond!
Recently there was an article in the Cape Cod Chronicle that described how the Chatham Pet Food Pantry began, and how it helps many families on Cape Cod. This is not restricted to Chatham residents!
To contact the Chatham Pet Food pantry directly, email chathampfp@gmail.com or call the Chatham Dog Club at 508-776-5219, or write the Chatham Pet Food Pantry, PO Box 328, Chatham, 02633.
At MRHS there will also be a collection box opposite our Animal Welfare information case, next to the stairway by the library!
*** If you have a donation that you would like us to pick up, please send an email to pkmcmahon@monomoy.edu
Thank you for your SUPPORT!!

RECAP- Grade 10 CLASS VISITS
Counselors Mr. Bennett, Mr. Burke, and Mrs. Ginnetty met with ALL grade ten students for future planning Naviance lessons. Students were reacquainted with their log on/password and completed one of the following two surveys: The Career Interest Profiler and the Career Cluster Finder. Students were matched to potential career categories and selected a career to learn more about. They reported information about their matched occupation including the education required, the salary & benefits, as well as the job outlook. Students who explored further were able to connect to at least one college or university that offers a major or training program in their identified career area. Thanks to Mr. Bates and Mr. H-T for allowing us to visit their history classrooms. Please discuss these results with your student (s).
GRADE 8 CLASS VISITS
Next week Mrs. Burton will be going into classes to introduce students to the guidance software program Naviance. Students will view a powerpoint that will show them the different features they will be accessing in upcoming years. After viewing the presentation, they will have a chance to self-navigate the site to become familiar with its many career and college planning benefits. The powerpoint will be added to the Guidance Website and Naviance for your viewing.
PSAT 9 and PSAT/NMSQT
MRHS received electronic score files on all grade 9, 10 and 11 PSAT testers. Students will be receiving their scores via e-mail this and next week. The counseling team will post information on the Guidance Website and on Naviance for you to review to help your child interpret their scores. MRHS, as a whole, did quite well in most cases surpassing state and national averages!

Athletics Weekly Summary
Week of: December 3rd - 7th
Written by: Caroline Howard
Baby it’s cold outside! And when that brisk Cape Cod air comes around and freezes the tip of your nose--we know it’s time for Winter Sports! So, without further ado, let’s get down to business!
On Saturday, our Sharks Boys and Girls Basketball teams both had scrimmages. The Boys faced off against Pembroke, and the Girls played Mt. Everett. The Boys seemed to be in full swing with each other as their passing and of course, shooting showed fans that these Sharks are not messing around this season! And for the Girls, they came out on top over Mt. Everett! The Girls team dynamic was unmatched, and their effort showed they are ready for the season!
On Monday, Boys Basketball traveled to Plymouth South for another scrimmage! These Sharks battled hard and displayed to the Plymouth South Panthers what they were really made of! Way to go guys!
This Saturday, Boys Basketball plays Mashpee at 10 o’clock! It’s a home scrimmage so make sure you come out and support!
That’s all for this week folks! But don’t worry, there’s always more to report on for our Sharks! I’m Caroline Howard and Go Sharks!
