Staff Spotlight
Hope Pearson
1. What classes do you teach and/or programs and activities do you work with?
I work in the Counseling Office serving students with the last names St-Z.
2. How long have you been at WHS?
105 days
3. What do you enjoy most about the Westview community?
Seeing my kids everyday while I'm at work! Seriously, I love the energy and the desire I feel staff have for developing the whole person not just the academic student.
4. If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it - metaphorically speaking, getting a message out to millions or billions - what would it say and why?
It could be a few words or a paragraph. It could be someone else's quote or any quotes you think of often or live your life by. Why would you put it on a billboard today?
I have Maya Angelou's quote on my wall: I've learned that people will forget about what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Why do I want to post this?
Because it reminds me/us every day to be kind and that will leave a lasting impression.
Morp date change!
Westview Morp = Friday, February 22 after the boys varsity basketball game.
Extended Community Classes This Month
Here is the 45 -minute Community Schedule for every Wednesday in February
MAKE-A-WISH
We held our first ever Make-A-Wish Assembly last week. We have adopted the wish of Bransen, a 12-year-old from Beaverton, who wishes to meet the San Francisco Giants. Bransen's idol is catcher Buster Posey. To grant this wish, our goal is to raise $7,500 by February 15th. During the assemblies, we held a Miracle Minute and raised nearly $2,500! Students and staff have also supported Bransen by purchasing Morp tickets, Pack-the-Pit shirts, and support stars.
Overall we have already raised $7,117! In one week!!
It’s a proud time to be a Wildcat!
There are also a couple of ways you can help us outside the school day. February 11th
from 3-10 pm the Tanasbourne Chik-fil-A will donate 15% of all online and
app (only) sales. You can also help us by making a donation at http://site.wish.org/goto/westview

Curriculum Night
Curriculum Night is February 21st.
Below is the schedule and plan for Curriculum Night. If you have questions or a club / activity that you want represented in the student center, please see Diane.Valograms are Coming!
Every February the choir sells and delivers singing Valentines called “Valograms.”
Valograms cost $3 and include a 40-second song, a Valentine, and a chocolate kiss. Valograms are delivered the last ten minutes of periods 1-6 and the first ten minutes of periods 7-8 on the day before Valentine’s Day and Valentine’s Day. The dates this year are Wednesday, February 13 and Thursday, February 14.
If teachers do not want to have their classes disrupted by this levity, romance, and blushing recipients, they can email Marci Taylor to request that deliveries not be made to their classes. Please send Marci the classroom number/s that should not receive deliveries.
Love and chocolate kisses,
Marci Taylor and the Concert Choir
P.S.
Again, Valograms are delivered the last ten minutes of periods 1-6 and the first ten minutes of periods
7-8
