AHS Library Checkout
Physical Books
We now have 3 ways for online AND F2F students to get their hands on physical books. Find out how to Safely Checkout from the AHS Library.
E-Books
For those of you who want to be extra safe, we have 2 places to go, in 1link:
- JLG Digital –
How to access: 1Link > JLG AHS - High-interest AND always new
- Multi-user (we can all read the same book)
- Mostly Fiction, but carries some Graphic Novels and Non-Fiction
- Books switch out every couple of months (always something new)
- Sora –
How to access: 1Link > Sora (Overdrive) - Hand-picked by all FBISD Librarians
- Most are single-user (so they need to be “checked in” for someone else to use)
- Mostly Fiction, but we have a great deal of Non-Fiction and Graphic Novels
- Books MOSTLY stay forever (but you may need to check on the individual titles)
Substitute Recruitment
We are seeking highly-dedicated professionals to deliver quality, engaging instruction that will spark our students imagination, retain their interests and promote a student-centered environment during the absence of their teacher.

You can also contact Mr. Jones at desmond.jones@fortbendisd.com if you are interested to hear about various opportunities we have at Austin HS.
Ongoing - Grab and Go Lunch
Fort Bend ISD Child Nutrition is pleased to announce that all students; kids and teens the age of 18 months to 18 years old and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old can receive Grab & Go school breakfast and lunch, free of charge! Whether students are learning online or face-to-face meals are free to all at every campus and at our curbside locations; again, they do not have to be a FBISD student to receive free meals.
FBISD Child Nutrition is still strongly encouraging all families to complete a Free & Reduced Meals application at www.schoolcafe.com/fbisd; because when we return from Winter Break meals will no longer be free to everyone and regular status of free, reduced or paid will begin. However, this is not required to receive the free meals.
Our team appreciates everything you do and supports your efforts by serving meals many students need to stay alert and ready to learn. Please use the meal promotion tools below to help us ensure your students and their families know how to access our school meals. Adding these digital elements to your communications will help us connect more families with federally funded meal programs administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
Curbside Grab & Go breakfast and lunch will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday at the following locations:
- Dulles High School (550 Dulles Ave, Sugar Land, 77478)
- Elkins High School (7007 Knights Ct, Missouri City, 77459)
- Hightower High School (3333 Hurricane Ln., Missouri City, 77459)
- Hodges Bend Middle School (16510 Bissonet St., Houston, 77083)
- Kempner High School (14777 Voss Rd, Sugar Land, 77498)
- McAuliffe Middle School (16650 S Post Oak Rd, Houston, 77053)
- Missouri City Middle School (202 Martin Ln, Missouri City, 77489)
- Ridge Point High School (500 Waters Lake Blvd, Missouri City, 77459)
- Travis High School (11111 Harlem Rd, Richmond, TX 77406)
- Willowridge High School (16301 Chimney Rock Rd., Houston, 77053)
Parents can now pick up meals for students at our curbside meal locations, and must provide one of the following documents:
• Student ID cards
• Individual student report cards
• Attendance record from parent portal of Skyward
• Birth certificate for children
Without one of the listed documents, parents will receive meals for the number of students present with them, on foot or in a vehicle.
Thank you for working with us to increase awareness of school meals so students can get the nutrition they need to be healthy and ready to learn.
