FRISCO ISD’S FIRST EVER CHOIR FESTIVAL, TOGETHER IN SONG, IS QUICKLY APPROACHING!
JOIN US for this celebration of music! The event will take place at Stonebriar Community Church on Saturday, January 19, at 3:00 PM. Director of Choral Studies, Dr. Allen Hightower, from the University of North Texas will be our guest conductor and direct our grand chorus made up of 240 voices from each Frisco ISD high school. High school orchestra students from across the district will also share their talents on one select performance piece. Our Frisco ISD Honor Choir will perform prior to the concert, and The University of North Texas A Cappella Choir will perform selections from their fall repertoire as well.
If music is a passion of your student(s), this will be an incredible event for them to attend so they have the chance to see the kinds of Fine Arts student opportunities available to them not only in Frisco ISD, but in post-secondary education. This is sure to be a musical experience and celebration of singing for ALL, so don’t miss out! Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased by visiting tickets.friscoisd.org. Click on the “Fine Arts” link and then on the “Frisco ISD Choir Together in Song” link. Click on “Purchase Tickets,” under “General Public Tickets” to purchase. Tickets are $5 each, and all seating is general admission for the event.
Our students have been preparing all year for this event and can’t wait to share their music with you on January 19!
18 Day Kindness Challenge - sponsored by PTA and Hunt Counselors
Congratulations To All Students For Completing the 18 Days Of Kindness! We Collected Over 300 Pairs of Shoes To The Tumaini and Haruma Children’s Homes. Most of the children there cannot afford a pair of shoes, which means they do not go to school. One requirement of attending school is that you must have closed toed shoes. Thanks to our donations, more of them CAN attend school.

Flu Season - a note from the nurse
Fevers, flu and illness is dramatically increasing here at Hunt, as well as in the community. Please follow the Frisco ISD Attendance Guidelines-
WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME FROM SCHOOL
Students should not attend school in the following circumstances:
- Signs of severe illness, including fever, irritability, difficulty breathing, crying that doesn’t stop with the usual comforting, or extreme sleepiness.
- Temperature of 100 degrees or above. A child must have temperature below 100 degrees for 24 hours before returning to school without taking a fever reducing medication.
- Diarrhea (3 or more episodes of loose stools in 24 hours). A child must be diarrhea free for 24 hours without the use of diarrhea suppressing medications.
- Vomiting two or more times in 24 hours, unless a physician feels the cause of vomiting is not an infectious disease and the child is in no danger of becoming dehydrated. A child should have one or two meals without vomiting before returning to school. Your child may be sent home from school for vomiting one time.
- Questionable rash until a physician has determined the rash is not caused by an infectious disease.
- Known communicable disease must be treated for the appropriate amount of time as directed by a physician. An example is newly diagnosed strep must be on antibiotics for a full 24 hours before returning to school, even without fever.
- Recommendation of a physician or school nurse.
***Students may be too ill for school and contagious even without fever, especially at the onset of a viral illness when they are really feeling poorly and have the congestion, cough, sore throat symptoms, or a stomach illness.
