Nursing students from The College of New Jersey visited Grace N. Rogers Elementary School preschool students to give a lesson on hand-washing. Thank you to the East Windsor Health Department for organizing!
Mrs. Herrera's annual book challenge at Walter C. Black Elementary School has started. This year’s second graders have been challenged to read all 8 Dixie books by Grace Gilman. Each student will receive a cute book buddies when they complete the challenge.

Students in Mrs. Mosca’s class at Perry L. Drew Elementary School learned about Groundhog Day. They read the book, Who Will See Their Shadow This Year?, and then retold the story through yoga poses!
Did you know that February 2 was National Ukulele Day? Mr. Tsai's 5th-grade class at Perry L. Drew Elementary School is pictured with their ukuleles.
Ms. James' Melvin H. Kreps Middle School class made graffiti walls about coming of age stories after reading excerpts and discussing the elements that can be found in the genre.
Congratulations to Brianna Saragih who is the 2023 Hightstown High School Nominee for National Girls and Women in Sports Day from the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.
The NJSIAA is celebrating the many achievements of girls and women in sports. Outstanding high school and college/university female athletes are being recognized across the nation.
Brianna plays football, swim, and golf. The NJSIAA will be honoring chosen athletes at halftime at the Seton Hall Women’s basketball game vs. Xavier on February 18.

Hickory Corner Library 6th through 12th grade 3D Art Display
The MHK and HHS Arts program came together to display some beautiful 3D work at the Hickory Corner Library. Come and check out the talented work from these fantastically talented students. The artwork will be displayed in the glass cases in the library for the entire month of February.
2023-2024 Kindergarten Registration
Will your child be 5 years old by October 1, 2023? Registration for students entering Kindergarten in September 2023 are being accepted NOW!

Parents/guardians that do not have access to a computer or the internet can schedule an appointment to register online in the office by calling Central Registration at 609-443-2881 ext. 6800.
If applicable, a Language test will be conducted by appointment on a later date.
This week our Hightstown High School Athletic Leaders met with RISE from downtown Hightstown to explore some volunteer opportunities in our community for this school year.
EWRSD Homework Free Holidays for 2022-23
In an effort to provide a sense of balance and to promote time spent with family, EWRSD students will not receive homework assignments or long-term projects that are due when they return to school after the breaks listed below. In addition, tests and quizzes will not be administered on the first day of school following the break.
- Spring Break: Wednesday, April 5, 2023, through Monday, April 17, 2023
