Winter Gear

It's becoming a bit cooler as of late. Please make sure your child has a warm jacket, hat, gloves, and when the snow falls, snow pants and boots. If it is convenient for you, and your child has extras, these things can be kept at the school. Please make sure to label each item with your child's name.

Community School Activities to Resume

We recently submitted the required Building Use Agreements with insurance certificates to enable us to resume Community School activities. The schedule will be as follows:

Tot Time - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:45 am - 12:45 pm

Volleyball - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 - 9:00 pm

Walking/Work-out - Monday through Friday, 7:15 - 8:15 am

As soon as everything is approved at district office, we will let everyone know by way of the Crier.

District Office has informed us that since there is no student contact for Community School activities, background checks are no longer needed unless you are issued a key to the school.

Field Trips

Parents who wish to accompany their child on field trips (whether or not you are driving a student other than your own), must complete a background check. To complete the process, please click here: https://kpbsd.org/departments/assistant-superintendent/instructional-services/hr/volunteer/

Hope School Happenings

Everyone has worked very diligently to make this Field Trip happen. We are asking everyone to be on time and be prepared when arriving at the school Wednesday morning. Road construction is still a factor. It could be helpful to students to have everything laid out for the morning of departure to Kasitsna Bay the night before. Please speak with your child about good behavior and reasonable choices. Let students know the adults are there for them if they should have questions. We want this to be a fun learning experience each of them. Please see Dawn Hammon-Sammet with any last minute questions. We are all grateful to the Hope School PTO for their contribution to make the Field Trip possible.

For those who were recently hired by the KPBSD to work as substitutes, WELCOME! Thank you for being a part of the Hope School staff. We have substitute packet printed for you to swing by and pick up. Once the paperwork is completed, we will scan it back to District Office for you or you may send it in on your own. Just know that we are happy to have you and willing to assist you with facilitating your final step in the paperwork chain. For those who have not yet applied with the district. We definitely want you here. Please consider being a substitute teacher, substitute custodian or substitute secretary.

Thank you all for making sure the children have proper winter gear. I realize there are students who still do not quite have what they need. The rainboots really are needed this time of year. Honestly, this year has been a bit on the wet side all summer.
