Thank you so much for helping your child with the "All about Me" Project. The students did a great job sharing their bags. I can't wait to hear the rest.
I have created our classroom Private Google Website. This site is a resource for our classroom, where you can access information, photos, class directory, and forms shared by our room parent. Please review the Classroom Directory. Sorry if I made any errors. If I made an error, please email me so I can fix the error. Here is the link to the Private Google Website: https://sites.google.com/smusd.org/mrs-stremels-1st-grade-family-/home
Our library day is on Wednesdays. If your child brought home a library book, please help them return their library book by Wednesday. Thank you for your help.
On Mondays, please look in your child's backpack for a yellow fluency folder. The folder will go home on Mondays and needs to be returned on Fridays. Thank you for your support.
I also send home weekly phonics and spelling words on Mondays. We review the words during the week in class. If you feel your child needs extra support, please help your child review the words each week. The words are also listed below under "Spelling Words of the Week." On Friday, we had a "practice' spelling test with the words we worked on over the week. We will have another practice test next Friday.
Thank you also for returning the paperwork. If you haven't had a chance to return the yellow parent interview sheet please return ASAP.
Have a great week, Mrs. Stremel

Birthdays
Classroom Celebration
Our class will celebrate the birthday scholar with a birthday cheer, dance, and song.
Class Birthday Goody Bags
You may send in non-edible items: small toys, erasers, pencils or trinkets. Please Do Not include candy due to the District Wellness Policy.
Birthday Invitations
If your child is passing out invitations at school, please be sure that all students in the class are invited. This prevents tears for our sensitive first graders.
Donate Library Book: You can donate a “Birthday Book” to the Library. Please put your child's name and room number (203) on the book with a sticky note or insert a paper. You can hand your child's birthday book into the office to give to Mrs. Ellis (the librarian), or your child can give their book to me and I will give it to Mrs. Ellis. During the next flag salute, Mrs. Ellis will have your child come up to the front of the assembly (where she is standing) and she will announce the book donated. Then the school will sing happy birthday to your child.
Independent Study Contract: If your child will be missing five or more days, please contact the office at least one week prior to set up an independent study contract.
Amazon WIsh List: I created an Amazon Wish List for some of the things our class is always in need of replenishing and a few items that would be great to have. Thank you! Please see the link below.https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/ZEKM9G0K7TUV?ref_=wl_share
Classroom Volunteers: Thank you for signing up to volunteer in our classroom. We are still in need of reading and math volunteers. Thank you again for your support!
