RES Staff Update

November 5-9, 2018

Tuesday, November 6 is Election Day. If you did not make it to vote early, you can still make your voice heard on Tuesday. You will just have to vote at your assigned polling place. If you are unsure of where to vote, here is a link to help:

On Monday, November 12, we will hold our annual Friendsgiving celebration. This year we will handle the sign-up differently. Please click on the link below to select one of the three ranges of time that you will be eating. There will be a separate sign-up genius created for each lunch session (Lunch A, B, or C). This will help us to organize the food more efficiently. We just ask that you come at the time that you sign up for so we'll be sure to have enough food for everyone. The number of dishes for each lunch sign up will be based on your responses to the survey. Please complete this as soon as possible. Thank you!

Thank You

Thank you to everyone who helped to make Bingo Night a success! I heard it was a full house! Be sure to maintain a list of school events that you attend and help with for your end of year conference (Domain IV). We know this is not why you do what you do, but we want to be sure to recognize this for appraisal purposes.

Thank you to Suzanne Thompson for being there to support the AP's and staff during my absence. It was reassuring to know there was extra support last week for the before and after of Halloween. :)

Thank you to everyone who participated or helped with the school-wide Book Character Parade!

Thank you to everyone for making E-track a memorable experience for our students!

GT Hours

If you teach students in the GT program, please be sure that you've completed your initial 30 hours or your 6 hours of required update training. If you have any questions, please see Courtney, Carrie, or me. Thank you!

Veterans Day

On Friday, November 9, we will have our annual Veterans Day program. This is a whole-school event and requires a schedule change. The younger grades will go to the gym so sing to the veterans, and our 4th and 5th grade students will attend the program. K-3 students with guests will also attend the program in the cafeteria. Veterans also have the option of staying after the program to visit their student's classroom, so all teacher should plan on this as a possibility. Our Veterans Day committee has been working since the beginning of the year to make this a special event. We appreciate each of you!

Pineapple Chart

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to have guests in their classrooms. I know it is a busy month, but keep the invites coming. We will have a drawing at the end of this month among all who volunteered to host and all who took time to observe. Fun shirts for Wednesdays with jeans will be the prize! If you have tickets to put in the drawing, please drop them off in my office (I'll have a jar for them). If you volunteered either way and did not receive tickets for the drawing, please see me to get them. Each host should receive 2 tickets, and each observer should receive 1 ticket.

Calendar Updates (October)-Bolded items are new this week

4th grade will change their large group time to 3:00 pm for November 7, 8, 12, and 13. This is to allow them practice time using the risers for their upcoming program on November 13.
