Mrs. Mathe's Message
We had a great week this week at Powell! Our 4th grade students got to visit Mitchell and Collins Intermediate schools to learn about all they have in store for them next year. This is such an exciting time of year when we look into the future and realize, summer is almost here! But we must remain focused as we still have 7 weeks to make a great impact with our students. For this momma, I feel like I have blinked and my baby girl is already leaving my nest at the elementary level! Parents, it goes by so fast, take time to soak up all these moments while they are still little!
My hope for this weekend is that the weather clears enough to be able to enjoy a few nice spring days outside over the 4 day weekend! See you all on Tuesday, April 11th when school resumes.
My apologies, I realized not all PAWS-itive Award pictures were posted last week, so I left the link below to all of the award recipients.
Penny War Results
We had a great time this week battling it out for the top donating grade level in our 2nd annual Penny Wars. Students had fun competing with the other grade levels, all the while raising funds for a worthy cause. In total, as a community, we raised $2,030.30!!!!!! All of these donations will go straight to Gigi's Playhouse to help support their mission of providing opportunities for individuals with down syndrome.
Thank you all for participating and helping teach our children the importance of giving back to our community.
Congratulations to 3rd Grade on your first place WIN! We will celebrate with an extra recess and popsicles!!!
