Please see the details and application link for the 2021 Summer Research Program sponsored by the STARS Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Our goal for the 2021 STARS Summer Research Program is to allow in-person research participation. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, be aware that participation may move to virtual, hybrid, or possible cancellation.
Summer Research Program for Students
The purpose of this program is to provide students the opportunity to work one-on-one with faculty researchers on an investigative project in a laboratory setting. This program provides meaningful experiences in biomedical research to encourage students to consider careers in the sciences. Dates for the 2021 STARS Summer Research Program are still TBD and will be announced when they become available. Applicants must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2021, be currently classified as a junior, and be enrolled in high school. A stipend of $2800 will be paid to each student. As part of the requirements of the program, each student will give an oral presentation of their experimental results and will present highlights of their experience to classmates at their home campus during their senior year.
We hope that you will consider submitting an on-line application to this highly beneficial program. Please fill out the application on-line using the link below. Completed applications and all documents must be postmarked by 11:59 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2021 to be considered. We will allow a three day grace period for letters of recommendation.
