Friendly Reminders from HES Office Staff:
Morning drop off times, Tuesday-Friday 7:25-7:55.
Please continue to use one lane for morning drop off for the continued safety of students. We ask that students are NOT dropped off in the parking lot & walk across traffic.
Students are to be dropped off on the sidewalk at the Elementary’s front entrance.
Please do not use cell phones during drop off.
At 7:55 the doors to the front entrance will be shut and locked. Staff are no longer monitoring drop off after 7:55. The building sign will be placed outside that school is in session.
After 7:55 students being dropped off are counted as late. Parents are responsible for walking their student to the front door and signing their student in with a staff member.
- If you need to make a change to your child's regular routine for the end of the day, please send a note to the office. Calls are for emergencies, the school office is a very busy place, especially at the end of the day. If you have a schedule change for your student and it is last minute- please call Chellsie no later than 2:30.
Jr. Ag at HES
We hope to see you all on December 12th at 5pm at the Galena Christmas Parade...we will be representing our Highlandville Junior Ag program with a float.
For December we are focusing on giving back and using what we have for sustainability. We will be using flowering seeds and recycle paper to make Christmas ornaments that you can use to decorate and then plant for a spring flower!
We will be sponsoring a canned food drive that will be a friendly competition between classes and all of the cans raised will stay locally. If you know of a family in need just let us know. Watch the Spokane Owls FB page for updates on the competition.
Finally, we would like to send out a huge congratulations for our new SHOWCASE TEAM. We had 17 junior ag students that interviewed and we have selected 12 to represent our school. The Showcase team will have its first event with a bell ringing service for the Salvation Army.
We would like to thank you all for your support and we wish you a very MERRY Christmas.
Honor Choir at HES
After November got gobbled up so quick, Highlandville’s Flight Bound Honor Choir is flying straight into a season that captures our imaginations and hearts with songs that are sure to bring our community some holiday cheer.
This past month, we began learning Queen’s “Somebody to Love,” an amazing and beautiful song that we are aiming to be ready to perform sometime in February. But until then, we are going to regale in Christmas songs like Deck the Halls, A Holly Jolly Christmas, Feliz Navidad, and Santa Claus in on His Way. As far as performances go … instead of traveling to nursing homes to spread holiday love and music, the Honor Choir will be performing virtually for those that are able to tune in and get their Christmas jive on with us.
It’ll be a different experience for us and them, but my hope is that they will still be able to feel our love as we sing from our hearts. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to one and all!
