April 2016 Monthly Report
WHHS Library Mission Statement
The mission of the Wade Hampton High School Library is to ensure that students and staff develop critical thinking skills, are effective and ethical users of resources, ideas, and information, and are enthusiastic readers and lifelong learners.
April in the WHHS Library
We had 38 class visits to the library during April:
- Students in Mrs. Alewine's and Mrs. Brooks' classes conducted research on college and career planning. Their libguide can be viewed here.
- Mrs. Waters' and Mrs. Whitlock's classes researched genetic disorders. Their libguide can be viewed here.
- Many English classes finished up research for a variety of projects.
- Ten classes visited for "Speed Dating with Books".
Poem in Your Pocket Day
On Thursday, April 21 the WHHS Library celebrated National Poem in Your Pocket Day. Many teachers, students, and administrators shared their poems with our community. Learn more about Poem in Your Pocket Day here and enjoy this poem by Mr. Solomon.

We had a great group at this month's #YAhooligans meeting on Friday, April 15. Some of the shared titles were:
