End of the Year Collections:

The end of the school year is quickly approaching. It is the perfect time to express our thanks to all the people at Gorrie Elementary that make a difference. If you are planning on giving a gift to any of Gorrie's staff or specialty teachers, we want to help you check one “to do” off your list. The PTA will receive collections and allocate to staff and specialty teachers including Art, Music, Media, P.E., Guidance, Strings, Custodial staff, Lunch room staff, LPN, Office Staff and Student Services. For those in Gifted of ESE, there will be a second collection for the Gifted and ESE teachers.

If you wish to participate, there are two easy ways to do this.

1) Please write a check payable to Gorrie PTA and return to school/front office. Envelopes will be sent home with your child..

2) You can make your contribution online at http://tinyurl.com/gorrieEOY2 for staff and specialty teachers or http://tinyurl.com/gorrieEOY1 for Gifted and ESE teachers.

Both methods go to the same collection. The Gorrie PTA will give the monetary gift to the Gorrie staff and specialty staff on your behalf.

Please submit by the end of the school day on Friday, May 27th. If you have any questions, contact Molly Gutcher at mollygutcher@yahoo.com. Thank you!

· Note: You will receive separate information on homeroom teacher gifts.

Your response needed -- Family Survey for School of Excellence Program

Dear Parents,

We need your help as we continue the application process to become a National PTA School of Excellence! As part of the process, National PTA requests feedback from families at the beginning and end of the school year. The first survey was completed in October. All of this will help provide specific recommendations for improving our family-school partnership and achieving excellence. You can access the survey here.

Please take 5-10 minutes to reflect on your experience at Gorrie Elementary and complete the completely anonymous survey by May 27, 2016. Mark the response that most accurately expresses how you feel about your experience. We appreciate your time in helping us achieve this prestigious recognition for our school!

Info Fair is August 9th!

The Info Fair kicks off the upcoming school year and is happening Tuesday, August 9th from 10am-12:30pm. Different organizations within Gorrie PTA, Gorrie Foundation and activities related to our school have tables at the Info Fair. Haven't had a table before at the Info Fair? All you need is a visible sign, display materials and a person to man the table--it's a great way to recruit volunteers and encourage participation in your activity or event. If your group needs a table, please reserve one here: http://goo.gl/forms/zoHaHnJhqd

Reach out!

Be sure to share this with your friends at Gorrie. They can join the mailing list on mygorrie.com!
