Components of Next Generation Learning
Why mLISD?
Rapid Changing Technology
The move to mobilization - In 2007 when the current template was designed, tablets (such as iPads) did not exist.
Student Ownership of Learning
We recognize that increased access to technology in and of itself will not create the transformation, but that technology can be a strong enabler to get us there.
Transform Teaching and Learning
Creating our Next Generation Classrooms through the interaction of content, pedagogy and technology.
Efficiency
Our goal has been to build a strategy that strategically uses our available funding to increase student access, support student learning and improve efficiency for both students and teachers.
Digital Content and Resources
Shifts in the textbook and instructional materials allotment are funded
Increasing reliance on on-line resources
Explosion of Open Educational Resources
Aging Equipment
Aging Equipment - More than 50% (on some campuses >80% of existing technology is more than 5 years old)

Student Focus Group at LHS
LHS students would like to see us use LISD students in marketing mLISD. Students liked the idea of taking a picture similar to above with all students holding the new laptops with mLISD logo on the screens.
