Comparative Poetry Anaysis
Kyrie Schoepke hour 6
introduction
tone and word chocie
There are different meanings and word choice but i have picked the over all meanings for both of the poems the over all meaning for problems with hurricanes is; Watch out for the beautiful innocent things in life because the maybe harmful in another situation. In sleeping in the forest the overall meaning is; Life and death is a luminous doom and can be a good or can be a bad thing.
Figurative langauge
There is some figurative language in both of the poems but one i want to point out is metaphors. The poem Problems with Hurricanes is one big metaphor because it has one big meaning that i had said previously in the first paragraph. In the other poem Sleeping in the Forest one metaphor is "I slept as never before, a stone on the riverbed", she is saying when she died she was just lying there like a stone on a river bed.
Form and structure
The structure of the poem problems with hurricanes is very plain and not very fun but it is very organised. But the other poem sleeping in the forest it is shaped like a tree and is a little more fun to read.
Conclusion
Both of these poems have a lot in common but are very different in a lot of ways by the meaning, Figurative language, form and structure. They are both very good poems and are very interesting. But my personal favorite is Sleeping in the forest.
