Welcome Back to School!
Smooth Start 6th graders have done a great job getting into a new middle school rhythm and routine. They enjoy a 10-minute outside break, and have loved lunch time together with their class. They were all smiles on the first day during lunch. | Safe PracticesEnsuring our students know our safety procedures and protocols is paramount to maintaining a safe environment. This past week students and staff have practiced each type of safety drill in perfect Ridgeview fashion – quietly and orderly! | Perfect Planning Teachers are already hard at work planning with colleagues. Each week, our teachers meet in content teams to plan instruction & analyze student performance, and they meet in interdisciplinary teams to monitor student performance across subject areas. |

Arrival and Dismissal Processes
For student safety as well as our staff supporting these processes, we ask for your support:
Arrival
- No drop-offs prior to 8:30 a.m. Students may not be left unattended prior to our opening.
- No drop-offs at the front doors. After 8:45, a parent should escort the student into the office for a tardy check-in. Bus riders are never tardy even if the bus is late.
- The carpool lane operates 8:30 - 8:45 a.m. Do not let students out prior to 8:30 a.m.
- Be ready as soon as you pull into carpool for your student to exit without assistance.
- Pull all the way forward in the carpool line.
Dismissal
- Walkers and bike riders need a permanent pass. Please contact the front office.
- Students only ride their assigned bus unless a bus change note is approved in the office.
- Carpoolers must be picked up in the lane. You may not meet your student in our parking lot, at the front doors, or elsewhere in the neighborhood.
- The bus is an available alternative if you find the carpool line to be too lengthy.
- In carpool, pull all the way forward, load quickly, and use the entire loading zone.

Help Your Student Be Prepared
Please help us with a few items to make sure your student is ready for for a great year of school:
- Know our new personal communication device policy: We’re widely sharing our new personal communication device (cell phone) policy in alignment with FCS’s push to remove these distractions from school. Students’ cell phones must be off and out of sight as they exit their car or bus for the duration of the school day until they leave campus. Starting next week, if a cell phone, ear buds, or other device is collected, it will be available to be picked up by a guardian only on the same day (first offense), after 3 days (second offense), or after 5 days (third offense).
- Be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes early (and watch that Here Comes the Bus app that we encourage all families to have).
- Or, arrive in carpool between 8:30 - 8:45. We don't allow parent walk-ups or walk-ins, so thanks for being ready to drop and go!
- Be in proper uniform, and we thank parents for paying special attention to ensuring that for our boys and girls alike our shorts and skirts are finger-tip length.
- Ensure your student knows the afternoon dismissal plan: knows their bus number (not bus animal) or knows to be picked up in carpool between 4:05-4:20 p.m.
