No Teachers Left Behind
Preparation For Teachers
How would you suggest we, as a nation, provide consistent learning opportunities for teachers and ensure that they are not left behind in learning about new techniques and strategies?
Schools are changing requiring more technology to be used for teaching our children. Teachers are required to integrate various learning strategies in a multicultural classroom. Teachers are important to the education of our children. They have to stay up to date with the new technology, involve parents in the school or education process and be observant of those students with special needs and those students with special talents within their classroom. Teachers need to further educate themselves either by going to school and continuing their education and/or attending seminars, webinars to further their knowledge of the changes in the school systems not only locally but around the world. Even with all this preparation, teachers will not be prepared for all the challenges throughout their careers.
Should all teachers across the country use certain practices? If so, what should those be?
Teachers across the country should use certain practices that are consistent with all teachers around the globe. Effective teaching strategies develop citizens who are well educated and being an effective teacher is a challenge. Teachers all across the country need to maintain good communication skills, be able to engage students, allow for individualized learning, give positive feedback, involve students in the decision making and allow them to work together with their peers to learn from the as well. If we were to have consistent practices across the country, we would need to make sure that all teachers received the same information and technology. This will cost a significant amount of money to accomplish this task.
Should there be a consistent standard for all teachers to meet, just as students must pass high stakes tests? If so, what would be the standard?
The standards will consist of the teachers conduct, will make sure that teachers, students and parents are all on the same page reaching for the same goal and the teacher is able to decipher which learning technique is best for which student and implement that technique. Teachers will be able to be awarded their qualified teacher status once they have passed these standards just as students need to pass the high stakes tests. In order for our children to excel teachers need to be up date concerning their knowledge of the classes they are teaching and with technology. Teachers make education for students their first concern, and achieve the highest possible standards in work and conduct.
