Dyer Elementary's 2017 Holiday Luncheons

Come one, come all

We'll have a ball.

Please join us for this festive time

It'll cost a bit more than a dime.

But, to kick off the season,

Well, who needs a better reason?

Food, family, fun

So be sure to come.

Hope to see you there,

Bring $3.00 for lunch, it's more than fair

When:

Wendesday 11/29 - (PreK & Kindergarten @ 10:45 / 4th grade @ 11:30)

Thursday 11/30- (1st grade @10:45 / 2nd grade @ 11:30)

Friday 12/1 - (3rd grade @ 10:45 / 5th grade @ 11:30)

Where:

Dyer Elementary Cafeteria

Please note, due to spacing issues, we will only allow lunch visitors on your students designated day, as the students are eating lunch in their classrooms on the other days, If you prefer not to purchase a lunch, you are still more than welcome to join your student on his/her day. Parents with multiple students are encouraged to join each of their children on his/her designated day for some quality one on one time. That said, we realize this isn't always possible. If that is the case for your family, you may choose which of your children's days works best for your schedule, and then check your other student(s) out and have them join you. After lunch, you can check them back in and send them back to class; just be sure to let your child's teacher know in advance so they are aware.

Dyer Dads are Dynamite!

We are so lucky to have so many wonderful dads here at Dyer. The students loved sharing a sweet treat with their special guy. Mom's turn is coming up in February at our Muffins for Mom events on 2/15 & 2/16. Dads, won't you consider returning the favor by volunteering to help for an hour or two during Muffins with Mom? They would love to be served by such a fantastic group of men! If you're free, sign up here via SignUpGenius.

Parent Surveys

Parents,

Please help us improve our school by taking a few minutes to complete two very important surveys: one for GCPS and one for the State of Georgia.

GCPS Survey:

Each year GCPS conducts a Parent Perception Survey which is available on the Parent Portal. Once you log-in to your account, the survey should automatically pop up on your screen (make sure your pop-up blocker is turned off if you don't see it). Click here to log-in to your account. If you haven't yet set up a Parent Portal account, please visit our main office at Dyer to complete the brief form and show your valid ID. We also have computers available in the Media Center for you to use to complete the GCPS survey.

State Survey:

The other survey is from the State of Georgia and assists with our College and Career Readiness Climate Star Rating. You may complete the State survey on your computer, smartphone, or tablet or again, at the Dyer Media Center. We would like ALL parents to complete this State survey, and all responses are anonymously submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Please click here to access the State survey.

We hope you will take a few minutes to complete these two surveys to help us improve Dyer Elementary. Thanks for your support!

Fundraiser Order Questions?

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your fundraiser order, please don't hesitate to reach out to the vendor, School Fundraising Specialists. You can reach them by phone at 404-702-0926 or via email at: Lisa@fundraising-specialists.com

Bear Reader Program

The Bear Reader Program has begun. There are no special reading logs required. We are asking that the students read at least 20 minutes for five days of the week. The students already have reading logs that they have as part of their homework. Fill out the homework reading log every day. At the end of each month, the teachers will e-mail Mrs. Langford with the names of the students who have read at least 20 minutes for five days of the week. The students who complete this monthly reading goal will earn a brag tag. Brag tags are fun dog tags. The children will be able to collect a new brag tag at the end of each month. Let's see who can collect them all!

Birthday Wishes in Big Lights!

You may have noticed that birthdays can now be displayed on our school marquee. For just $5, you can wish your student a happy birthday during his/her birthday week. All proceeds benefit our "PAWS" initiative. (Summer birthdays will run during the last week of school, and during your child's birthday week.) To register your child, simply log into their MyPaymentsPlus account. Note: please allow 24 hours for processing.

Yearbook Orders

Yearbooks are now on sale, order a copy today! Simply log on to YearbookOrderCenter.com and enter our school's order number: 10768.
