Preliminary Return to Learn Reopening Plan

At its July 7 Committee of the Whole meeting, the Board of Education heard preliminary plans and options for reopening schools in the 2020-21 school year. Dr. Heinz and her administrative team outlined several possibilities for school operations in August, should Illinois remain in Phase 4:

  1. In-person instruction with significant health and safety modifications

  2. Opt-out of in-person instruction, enroll in a virtual learning cohort

  3. A hybrid of in-person and virtual instruction

The 4.5 hour board meeting was live streamed and archived. The full video and presentation slides (English/Spanish) can be viewed online.
