Spring Concert Ticket Pickup for Virtual Students

Every band student will receive 2 tickets for our Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 25. The tickets will only be valid for the band your student performs in. We will be clearing the auditorium completely between each band performance. All Face-to-Face students will receive their tickets in class (and will sign a document proving their receipt of the tickets) the week of April 26. All virtual students can pick up their tickets during any of our Instrument Selection Drives on the following dates and times:

Monday, April 26 - 4:30-7:30pm

Thursday, April 29 - 4:30-7:30pm

Saturday, May 1 - 9:00am-4:00pm

Monday, May 3 - 4:30-7:30pm

**Please come to the BACK of the school to pick up your tickets. You may pick them up from the band parent stationed underneath the tent outside of the band hall.**

Please Pay Instrument Usage Fees ASAP

The $50 per year ($25/semester) fee charged by GISD for students who use a school-owned instrument (oboe, bassoon, bass clarinet, tenor sax, bari sax, French horn, euphonium, and tuba) has now been assessed to your student's Skyward account. The payment for the use of the school instrument was due by March 1, but can be paid online anytime now. You can use a credit card in Skyward or send cash/check (made out to Hudson Middle School) with your student to school. Further details about how to pay online will be sent soon for those who need extra help completing their payment.

**Occasionally, we have students that play other instruments, not listed above, who use a school-owned instrument. The fee has been assessed to those students as well.**

The Spring Concert will take place on TUESDAY, MAY 25 in the auditorium at Sachse High School.

Students will wear their band t-shirt with jeans or dark pants for the performance. 1 shirt was included with your student's Fall Band Fee. The Fall Band Fee can still be paid through Charms as well. See THIS VIDEO for details on how to complete the payment in Charms. We will begin running reports every Monday (beginning next week) and will hand out shirts to students who have made their payment from the previous week up until the day before the concert.

Specific performance times for each band are as follows:

Beginner Band - 6:00pm

Symphonic Band - 6:45pm

Honors Band - 7:30pm

Wind Symphony - 8:15pm

We will have 1-2 after school rehearsals to prepare for the Spring Concert towards the end of May. Those dates have been selected, but we are awaiting approval from our administrators before sharing the dates with you. That should happen very soon! Those rehearsals will take place in the band hall at Hudson after school so we can have the virtual students come up and join us to prepare for the concert. All virtual students will be given a bell cover and a band mask to use for the rehearsals and the concert. We will continue to follow all COVID safety protocols.

We cannot wait to perform together! I hope you will join us on May 25 for our Spring Concerts and appreciate the incredible work our students have done throughout this challenging year. This is also the concert where we will give out our end of the year awards.
