Upcoming Events....
This week we celebrated the 100th day of school!
ANNOUNCEMENT OF OPTIONAL ELEMENTARY TESTING FOR IDENTIFICATION OF GIFTED STUDENTS
You may request that your child be tested on the InView Ability Test; the InView Ability Test is a paper-based ability test and takes approximately 2 hours to administer. In order to decrease disruption to your child's instruction, this optional testing opportunity will take place during the mornings of March 10 and 11 from 8:00 - 9:00 before the school day starts; this opportunity is for both in person and virtual learners. Students are required to attend both morning sessions in order to complete the assessment. If you wish to have your child participate in this round of testing, all requests must be made below by March 1, 2021. You may click here to register. This testing opportunity is optional for all students.
Please note it is the parents' responsibility to provide transportation to school on the mornings of testing. Students who are in person learners will stay at school and students who are virtual learners will need to be picked up by 9:05 from the home school. Since various common areas will be used for testing, we ask that parents leave after dropping off their child and plan to return at the predetermined time for pick up (parents can also choose to stay in the car in the parking lot, if that is easiest). If you have any questions, please contact Mindy Zellner at zellnerm@sycamoreschools.org.
The email address you use to sign your child up will be the email address used for any communication regarding this spring testing opportunity. Thank you!
SPIRIT WEAR
We've got spirit, yes we do! Our Spring spirit wear sale starts Monday, March 1st, and runs through Friday, March 12th. This is your chance to stock up on some adorable owl apparel if you missed our fall sale. This year we have a convenient website to place all orders. All spirit wear will be delivered to the school. Orders will be sent home with F2F learners and Virtual learning families will be notified of a pick-up day/time. A portion of all the sales goes directly to the PTO.
Spring Break with Champions!
Attention 4th Grade Parents!
Save the Date!
We are excited to welcome your rising 5th grader to the Greene School for the 2021-22 school year. We are tentatively planning our orientation program, Greene 101, in August of 2021. Please plan on attending Greene 101 on August 17-20, 2021. Your child will be able to attend two of those days. We schedule this experience based on the team placement. Additionally, we will host a Get Connected to EHG Day on August 16, 2021. This is the day students and parents can come to the Greene School to pick up their chromebook, have their picture taken, drop off school supplies, and tour the school.
We look forward to seeing you this summer!

PTO NEWS.......
You have been shamrocked!
Would your student enjoy a visit from our BAE leprechaun? O'Henry, our favorite Blue Ash leprechaun will be up to some crazy shenanigans the night before St. Patrick's Day and he'd love to stop by your home and leave you some goodies for good luck. Fill out the following form with your student's name and address, so he knows whose front door to visit, then wake up on St. Patrick's Day (Wednesday, March 17th) to a fun surprise! This fun, zero-contact treat is a festive way for the kids to enjoy a little St. Patrick's Day cheer and the funds go directly to the BAE PTO. Orders will close Friday, March 12th. Questions can be directed to Kristen Poast at baptovpwaysmeans@sycamoreschools.org.
The Power of PTO
So many of the activities, supports, events, and celebrations that we enjoy at BAE are because we have an involved and supportive PTO. This organization is led by a group of parent volunteers that get together with Mrs. Combs to plan and implement ways to enrich the school experience for everyone. Whether it is our Haunted Festival, Active Aves, Cultural Celebrations, or other school community gatherings, our PTO makes it possible....and we have a lot of fun in the process!
Please review the information below and consider being a part of our PTO leadership team.

Open PTO Chair Positions
BAE PTO has open Chair Positions and we need your help!
These always anticipated and beloved events can only happen with the planning and support of our volunteers. Please volunteer to help organize an exciting occasion for our students. We are looking for a Chair Person for each of the following events:
- Cultural Celebration
- BAE Fun Night
- 4th Grade Celebration

Good with numbers? Please consider helping BAE PTO by auditing our books! If you or someone you know would be able to help with our annual audit, please reach out to Victoria Margroum at bapto@sycamoreschools.org

Looking to get involved in BAE PTO? Put your talents to use for a noble cause: helping our students and teachers!
We have three open positions on the BAE PTO Executive Board for the 2021-2022 school year: President, Treasurer, and Communications Secretary. Each open position could be filled by one person or a team working together. Our current President, Treasurers, and Communication Secretary want anyone considering filling these positions to know that they are available to answer questions and give support next school year. Current and past members of the BAE PTO Executive Board really work together as a team to support new board members!
Please consider volunteering for one of these positions!
Contact Victoria Margroum at bapto@sycamoreschools.org or Jill Hagen at baptocomsec@sycamoreschools.org with interest or questions.
2021 Yearbook Information...
We’re hard at work on Blue Ash Elementary’s 2020-2021 Yearbook and we need your help!
Due to current restrictions, the yearbook team is unable to photograph day-to-day moments and special school events like we have been able to in the past. We still want to create a yearbook to commemorate this extraordinary year of Virtual and Face-to-Face learning, but we need your help gathering photos.
We’re looking for photographs capturing your student’s school year.
We encourage all BAE students, both Virtual and Face-to-Face, to send in photos.
Please send in photos keeping these requirements in mind:
• File size of at least 1 MB is best
• Send “original size,” if given the option
• Include only current BAE students in your photos
• Please include your student’s grade and learning style (VL or F2F) in the subject line of the email and list his/her first and last name and homeroom teacher in the body of the email.
For example:
To: bae.yearbook.2021@gmail.com
Subject: 1st grade, VL
Hello,
Here are pictures of John Smith in Mrs. Teacher’s
homeroom class.
• If you are submitting pictures of group activities like Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts, please list all students’ first and last names and grade level.
**Please note: we do not include names/labels/captions on candid or group photos in the yearbook, but we must know who is included in the photos to be compliant with privacy practices.
• Email photos to: bae.yearbook.2021@gmail.com
We are excited to see your photos! The yearbook team will try to accommodate as many photos as possible while maintaining a balance between Virtual and Face-to-Face learners as well as a fair representation of all grade levels while working within layout and size restrictions.
Email photos or questions to: bae.yearbook.2021@gmail.com
