Westmoor Update
~~~"A place where a student can dream, plan and achieve!"~~~
Week of November 9th
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Westmoor Parents, Caregivers, and Students,
I spoke with a student this week and she shared some deep concerns about things happening in our nation. We discussed resilience, empathy and civic engagement. I was grateful to listen to her thoughtfully maneuver through her feelings before we started our meeting.
She reminded me that all of our students are resourceful, flexible, compassionate, intellectually curious, and motivated to make a positive impact in our school and global community. I cannot say it enough that students need space and time to talk through all that is happening. Our students are living in historic times and self-care is so important. Let's create some time for our students to talk, rest, and relax. They deserve it!
Dream and Achieve,
Principal Grace Strickland
Balance is key to success. When you have a break from class- get up do 20 jumping jacks or downward dog but allow for a "break".
We need to remind all of us that a break is key to our success during AHL. Walking away from the computer for 10 minutes to rest our eyes and our mind will help!
