Great Start!
As we enter into the 2018-2019 school year, ALL students will continue to have technology devices checked out to them. Technology plays a large part in preparing future ready learners. Using devices in the classroom enables students to access online resources, research instantly, collaborate and communicate in ways that were not possible before. RRISD has and will continue to meet the goal of equipping students and teachers with the right tools to enhance classroom learning. This will support the student’s path to become college and career ready.
We want to thank you for your continued support with checking in and signing in to the office before entering campus, ensuring safety for all of our students. Our goal is to make sure that all staff and students have a safe and secure learning environment. If you are planning to observe or assist in the classroom, please remember to contact the teachers and make arrangements 24 hours prior to the day you are requesting to join them. You must also complete the Volunteer application if you have not already done so in the past 2 years. The Volunteer form can be found on our ECHS website.
I also want to recognize our PTSA again, which consists of parents, students, and teachers. They have provided many wonderful opportunities for students and families. We appreciate all of their hard work and efforts. We are still looking for volunteers to join our PTSA to help support our students and staff. If you are interested please contact the office for details.
We ask that you take some time to read and review our ECHS Parent-Student Handbook with your children this evening. Please acknowledge your receipt using the link below.

2018-2019 BELL SCHEDULE
A Message from our ITS
Hello Parents and Students,
Students with Chromebooks should not use Chromebooks to charge their cell phones. Charging cell phones with the Chromebook will eventually cause the computer to not power on completely.
I am also including a link for our Owl Laptop Policy.
Thank you,
Jessica Thailing
Counselor's Corner
Parents,
This week I have been prepping our students for their first week of ACC classes. I have used this time as an orientation and we have discussed the following activities:
* Tours of ACC buildings and showing each student their class for this semester
* Discussed importance of attendance and support for students both academically and emotionally
* Schedules were given to students detailing rooms, times and professors
* Transition times between classes from ECHS and ACC
* Students met our ACC Liasion, Sarah Stayton, who discussed the importance of doing well in classes, abiding by deadlines and communicating with professors
* Dual Credit Agreement was reviewed and signed by students. Forms were sent home for parent signatures.
* ACC textbooks policy was reviewed and textbooks were given out with forms for parents to review the damaged or lost textbook prices.
* All forms are due back to the office by Friday, August 31st.
ACC textbooks for 11th graders are en route and we have notified professors that students will have them as soon as possible. I will issue those books out as soon as we receive them. Just a reminder that ACC begins classes on Monday, August 27th.
Please use the link below to see the list of classes that will be running at ACC for the FALL 2018 semester. Lunches are also indicated for the classes that are running 3rd or 7th periods. All students have been given a copy of this schedule.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our front office or email me at cynthia_johns@roundrockisd.org.
WICOR CAMPUS WIDE
Attendance is Important!
Documentation after an Absence
When a student is absent from school, the student—upon arrival or return to school (within two days)- must bring a note signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence. A note signed by the student, even with the parent’s permission, will not be accepted unless the student is age 18 or older or is an emancipated minor under state law. A phone call from the parent may be accepted (phone calls are not permitted for secondary students), but the District reserves the right to require a written note.
Doctor’s Note after an Absence for Illness
Within two days of returning to school, a student absent for more than five consecutive days because of a personal illness must bring a statement from a doctor or health clinic verifying the illness or condition that caused the student’s extended absence from school. Otherwise, the student’s absence may be considered unexcused and, if so, would be considered to be in violation of compulsory attendance laws.
