STAAR Testing Procedures
Room assignments will be posted in the main hallway prior to testing and on testing days. You will also be receiving a copy of the room assignments. Please review these with the students and remind them to check the lists frequently so they know to which room to report on testing days.
Teachers, please place the desks in your classroom in rows and remove any wall items that may be in conflict with test requirements. Also double check your walls inside the classroom to be sure you have removed any content related materials. Check the corridor outside your classroom as well. Remember to read your test manual and to be actively monitoring during testing.
Teachers should report to their testing room immediately after picking up your testing materials.
Lunches: We will not be stopping the test for lunch. Snacks will be provided so please quietly hand them out an an appropriate time during testing. Lunches will be delivered to the classrooms. While students are lined in the hall getting their trays, test administrators can be getting materials in the proper order to return to Testing Central, room 304.
Test administrators, do not plan to leave your testing room to return materials until a certified teacher arrives to supervise your class. We are hoping we can alleviate some of your wait time by calling only a few classrooms at a time. While you wait to be relieved, you may get all of your answer documents and test booklets in the proper order, make sure that all seating charts and forms are complete and that all pencils, highlighters and other items sent in your testing bin are gathered for return.
