Artsy Holiday Programme
EXPLORING AND CELEBRATING CREATIVITY
Join us for a Creative Journey through the Arts in September
Art making is a symbolic language; it can help build confidence, self-expression and give the creator a sense of control and mastery over their world. It helps develop self -control and patience, flexibility, intuitive and creative skills. Above all - art is fun, relaxing and the end product is something that we can share with others. It inherently becomes a social activity but at the same time is also deeply personal.
What will this workshop offer?
The programme will be based around art-making but will also include some movement and elements of creative drama to encourage integrated learning. This integrated approach helps children build social, emotional and cognitive skills and gain a sense of achievement through making creative art works.
The programme will be lead by Caroline Essame (PostGrad.Dip Art Therapy), Creative Arts Therapist, a specialist in creativity and human development. Anna Lewis, our IIS School Counsellor (MSocSc Professional Counselling) will co-facilitate. In true IIS form, this arts holiday workshop will be a small personalised programme building around the individual needs of each child.
All Primary and Middle School students are welcome to grab this opportunity if they would like to enrich their Term 3 break this year!
Fee: $500 (inclusive of all supplies)
