Monday Memo
We Are Family - May 16, 2022
Important reminder - our late line is for those who arrive just a little too late for regular car rider. Please make every effort to be on time for car rider (in line by 3:15 pm) OR to pick up your children from extended day after 3:30 PM. The late line is not meant to handle a large number of cars each day. Additionally, please use the drop off line in the back of the lot after 8:00 AM each morning.
I have included information in this newsletter on two summer camp opportunities for our students. At the end, there is an attachment for Plainfield High School's Tennis Camps for students in grades K-8. There is another attachment for Cardinal Ritter's summer camps for students entering grades 3-8 for a variety of sports including golf, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, volleyball, football, etc. Both series of camps take place mostly in June. These are great opportunities for our Spartans!
We are looking for some additional help for the Field Day cookout. The Men's Club traditionally provides a cookout lunch for our students and staff on this day. They have asked for 10 dads to help out. We currently have four signed up - please see signup genius to add your name! https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/4090F4BA8AB2AA7FB6-field
As we prepare to wrap up the school year, please be sure that all EDM and lunch balances are paid as soon as possible. We also need all library books returned this week.
God bless,
Janet Abdoulaye, Principal

Color Run 2022
Thank you to Mrs. Rodebaugh and Mrs. Rosich, our 4th graders, and our Cardinal Ritter representatives for organizing this event again this year! This year, our 4th graders wanted to continue the color run in memory of Mrs. Hosek. Mrs. Karen Hosek taught at Saint Susanna for more than 37 years. She had a true love for teaching pre-kindergarten and inspired every student she had, and every person she met. She was a tireless advocate for her students and every day was a new adventure.
The funds raised will benefit the butterfly garden on our campus which was something that Mrs. Hosek loved. Donations are still being accepted at www.saintsusannaschool.com/pay . Choose the donations button and mark your donation for the "Color Run."
City Connects Program Through Marian University
Saint Susanna will be participating in a program called "City Connects" through Marian University for the next two years. This program, funded through Marian's Emergency Assistance to Non-Public Schools funds, will provide an additional social worker to Saint Susanna for two years. During the two year time period, the additional social worker will provide student and family support as needed and teach the Second Steps social emotional learning program in the grades that do not currently receive that instruction. This individual will be an employee of Marian University while working at our campus.
Marian asked that I share the job description with our community in case we know someone who would be a great applicant. They are looking for an individual with a Master's degree in school counseling, social work, or related field. The full job description is available at https://marian.peopleadmin.com/postings/1031 Please share with anyone who might be qualified and interested. They are hiring many individuals throughout central Indiana.

Safe Environment Training
In order to volunteer in our school building during the day or attend field trips as a chaperone, you must have a current safe environment training on file with us. Easy Fund-Raising for Saint Susanna Catholic School!
Box Tops for Education
Here’s how it works:
- Step 1: Download the new Box Tops App (iTunes or Google Play) – it’s free
- Step 2: Create a username and connect it to your child’s school
- Step 3: Scan your grocery store receipt. Items with the new Box Tops label will be automatically credited to your school
Does this mean I should stop sending in my paper Box Tops that I have already clipped? No! Continue to send those to the school!
