Black History Month Celebration!
Students had a wonderful week celebrating Black History. Students learned about the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). They also heard the bands from these various colleges. We hope they get inspired and want to learn an instrument with the possibility of earning a scholarship to college. Below are the links to the videos.

Cell Phones in School:
Parents, please do not call or text your child while they are in school. If you need to speak with them, please call the main office and we will get the child. Our policy is, if a student is using their phone and we see it, the phone will be taken and the student will get it back at the end of the day. If the student refuses, the parent will be notified and ask to come to school to get the phone. Children are on their phones constantly, posting to various social media sites. This is causing issues and big disruptions to the educational process. Thank you for your support.
Important Dates:
- Feb. 14th is Valentine’s Day. W are asking that you do not sent your child to school with any food items, due to students who have or may have allergies to the foods.
- There is NO Valentine Dance on the 14th. However, we are planning to have a spring dance.
- Feb. 17th Graduation pics for the 8th grade students. Information on the different packages was sent out last week and students will be coming home again with the information tomorrow. If you have any questions please call.
- Feb. 18th is an early dismissal day. Students are invited to wear red and pink to show school spirit. Dismissal is at 12:50
- Feb. 21st to 25th is winter break. Students return to school on Monday, Feb, 27th.

Did you know every student at Bishop Woods has a buddy? The students are able to experience community building activities with a partner buddy each month! This gives the older students an opportunity to mentor and practice leadership skills as they work with their younger schoolmates. The younger students get the benefit of learning from the upperclassman and see positive role models right in their own school! Thank you to the Culture & Climate Team (and especially Mrs. Daly) for organizing!
