Linne Roar
PARENT/SCHOOL EDITION
Principally Speaking...
Student attendance is the most important predictor of student success. Most students who do extremely well have great attendance. They are here almost every day and they are here on time. This is extremely important. We certainly understand that students do sometimes get sick (especially during this flu season) and there is the need for some absences, but there is a lot learned every moment students are in school.
Let's take this opportunity to congratulate Linne's 5th/6th grade Boys Basketball team who are undefeated and will be playing in the Conference Championship this Saturday at 9 a.m. at Clemente HS. We hope to see your support. Go Lions!. Also, a HUGE congratulations goes to Ms. Kovats, our 5th grade reading teacher. Ms. Kovats is one of 30 finalists selected for the highly regarded Golden Apple award. We wish her the best of luck in securing a Golden Apple.

Flu Season
- That family members get vaccinated.
- Practice good health habits that includes washing your hands often, don't touch your eyes, nose, or mouth without first washing your hands. Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing.
- Clean and disinfect communal surfaces
- If you have flu-like symptoms, stay home from school for at least 24 hours after your fever has disappeared.
Please be certain that we are taking all precautions and have been working with our maintenance staff to make sure classrooms are cleaned and disinfected and that sick children are picked-up.
Traffic Safety / Parking
- Remember to drive slow while on the streets surrounding the school.
- Please refrain from double parking on Sacramento Ave., School St., and Richmond St.
- School personnel has been dispatched to help guide parking and the flow of traffic. Please be respectful to our staff and always abide by our traffic school safety rules. Always listen to and follow their instructions even if their directions are incovenient. Set a good example for all of our children.
- Please respect all three crossing guards assigned to our school. They play an important role in keeping our students safe.
- Try to arrive early so that you can secure a parking spot and walk up to the school where you will be able to pick-up/drop-off your child.
- Remember that at dismissal Richmond turns into a one-way street going south towards Belmont.
- Children should exit from the right side of the vehicle (not into a moving traffic lane).
- Do not leave your car unattended or with the ignition on in the middle of the street during pick-up or drop-off.
If we can commit to following this simple rules we can assure that our students are safe during drop-off and pick-up.
