COVID-19 Updates

Ozark School District

As the second semester is now underway, we continue to do everything we can to reduce the risk of COVID-19 through social distancing, masking and cohorts. Our number one priority is the safety of our students and staff.

Here is our updated COVID-19 FAQ.

Just a reminder that ongoing COVID-19 updates can be found on our website - This includes our COVID-19 statistics, which are updated each Monday. Student and staff numbers are combined and the building is not identified in order to maintain anonymity.

Effective Friday, Jan. 22 we will no longer notify families of students who are at risk of low exposure via email and text. This change was made due to the increased amount of community exposure of COVID-19.

We will continue to individually contact families by phone if a student is at a high risk of exposure.

The CDC has announced that COVID-19 spreads less commonly through contact with contaminated surfaces. Because of this new information, we are no longer requiring our staff to disinfect between each class and bus route. Classrooms and buses will continue to be disinfected daily.

Here is our updated School Safety Fact Sheet.

Elementary students have returned to eating breakfast in the cafeteria rather than the classroom. We determined we are able to separate students by grade level and classes as we do with lunch. This increases efficiency in our operations.

Masks Required at Extracurricular Events

Ozark School District now requires masks to be worn by visitors at all times while inside our facilities for extracurricular events.

We want to provide our students the best experience possible, including an audience, while participating in extracurricular activities and do not want to restrict community attendance at our events.

With coronavirus cases on the rise, we want to provide a safe environment for community members to enjoy watching our students, and masking is the best way to do this. Social distancing is difficult or not feasible for popular events so masks are required regardless of social distancing.

Limited concessions will continue to be available. Our goal is to be able to continue offering food as long as we do not have issues with people using food as an excuse for not wearing a mask.

Please remember to keep your student home if they are exhibiting any symptoms. We will work with families to set up virtual learning for absences lasting longer than 2-3 days due to illness.

We need your help to keep everyone safe and healthy.
