Parents/Guardians of 11th graders
Have you scheduled your student’s Junior Advisement Meeting yet with their School Counselor? If not, please go to https://www.fultonschools.org/Page/24642 and get started! Links to the recorded Junior Information presentation as well as the PowerPoint are available at the top of the page, and steps to complete prior to the meeting are at the bottom of the page. This meeting is mandatory for all Juniors, and families are expected to either watch the presentation or look through the PowerPoint prior to attending the meeting. We look forward to meeting with you soon!
Parents/Guardians of Seniors
The November 15th and December 1st deadlines for college applications are quickly approaching! If your student is applying to a college that requires a counselor recommendation form or letter, then they must have completed the following at least 10 school days prior to the college deadline:
- Complete the Transcript Choice Form
- In Naviance, submit a transcript request and add the college to their Colleges I’m Applying To list – be sure to select the correct deadline.
- If applicable, match their Common App account with Naviance and complete the FERPA waiver (click on any college in Common App, then click the Recommenders and FERPA tab). Their colleges will then populate in their Colleges I’m Applying To list in Naviance.
- Upload their completed Senior Profile in their Counselor’s Class of 2022 Teams
Students who are applying to colleges that do not require a counselor recommendation only need to do (1) and (2). Videos and guides for matching Common App with Naviance as well as requesting transcripts in Naviance can be found on our Class of 2022 page.
Please ask your students to double-check that their college deadlines are listed correctly in Naviance, and if not, to update them! Many students have indicated to their Counselor that they are applying for a deadline that is in 1st semester, but Naviance is showing that they selected deadlines in 2nd semester. We need these deadlines to be absolutely correct to ensure your students’ documents get to their colleges in time.
