What's Up?
This week seemed to fly by! We continued working on adding and subtracting mixed numbers in Math. In Social Studies, we began learning about the Great Depression and in Science, we wrapped up our Classification unit. Our class also had fun doing an airplane investigation with Mr. Hartfield. In Language Arts, we read about the Stock Market Crash, reviewed idioms, and worked on narrative writing.
What's Next...
Mrs. Everly will begin teaching math and science units on multiplying fractions and mass/weight of objects. In Social Studies, we will continue to learn about the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. Your child will have a test over this material on Friday. We also have 4-H this week, so please send in those pop tops!
All Wahsega money is due no later than Friday, January 30th.
Science Fair
Please let me know if you did no receive the large information packet on Science Fair. As I've talked to the kids about their ideas, they haven't come up with ideas that can be tested. We talked about a few ideas that always work- Which paper towels absorb the most liquid? What brand of popcorn has the least amount of kernels in the bag? This doesn't have to be a big ordeal. This is their first science fair, so I told them to be easy on themselves!
Your child must master 170 ALEKS concepts by January 30th. Please make sure they are doing a concept a night.
