COVID Updates
Most contact tracing is coming down to lunch. Since students eating together are typically friends, we are currently hoping that students can share that information with their friends if they are comfortable. We will continue to try to help with this process, but currently, the vast majority of our efforts have been towards being out and about to reduce COVID transmission proactively.
I have linked the two slides form the parent coffee below (the Week of January 10 slide was updated last on Thursday morning). Although these numbers are much higher than we saw in the fall, we are hearing a very low level of severity of symptoms and most students are back in the building after five full days.
Lastly, with new executive orders in place for Virginia, we are awaiting guidance from Dr. Ziegler with what may occur regarding masks in LCPS schools. The expectation is that we will hear some time on Monday.

Phone & Walk Zones- Please Help
When students are walking home, we are seeing some of the worst behaviors I have witnessed since I have been at Seneca. From vandalism to fighting, it is not okay. So many students are present, but they remain bystanders rather than upstanders. Where is our character? Is this who we were taught to be when we see someone struggling? Quite frankly, I am embarrassed by some of the things I am seeing. At this point, please discuss as a family because any incidents including recording misconduct on your phone will be reported directly to our School Resource Officer (SRO). This behavior must change and I personally refuse to tolerate it from our students.
