BECS Parent Newsletter

September 9, 2022

Dear Hawk Families:

It has been another great week at Bromley! PTO had their first meeting of the year, which was a huge success. We had at least 18 parents in attendance in addition to our PTO board members. There are many great ways to become involved in supporting Bromley this year including event committees. Check out the BECS PTO website for more information or reach out to Board President, Elizabeth Strobel.

Next week kicks off our Big Kahuna fundraiser led by PTO. Monies raised from this fundraiser are used to support K-8 student and general school needs.

Thanks for your ongoing support!

Safety Information

Bromley has recently sent home several communications when we have engaged in our safety protocols. Over the past month we have utilized our SECURE protocol due to activity in the surrounding neighborhood, a HOLD for times in which paramedics were on site to provide medical attention to an adult individual, and have shared when we were investigating information about a safety concern at the school. Each of these events were unrelated to each other and all students/staff were safe in each instance, which is always our first priority.

We understand that the communication we send to parents is general. The reason for that is because we are not allowed to share specific information regarding individuals to the general public or we have not received additional information. However, we do want to keep you informed about matters related to school safety and do everything we can to make sure that happens. We will continue to make our first priority the safety of students/staff and will communicate about events as soon as we are able.

If you are interested in learning more about the safety protocols utilized at BECS, including descriptors for each safety protocol, check out the I Luv U Guys Foundation's Standard Response Protocols. These are the adopted safety standards utilized by BECS and 27J Schools.
