We are committed to our targeted learning focus for the school:
Ponder, Persevere and Prove It!
School Policies
Please review our school dress code for students to wear clothing that is suitable for the school activities in which they participate. Students shall not wear clothing that presents a health or safety hazard or causes a disruption to the educational program. At Mammoth Elementary school, we ask that students wear appropriate, closed toed shoes at all times. Additionally, clothes shall be sufficient to conceal undergarments. See-through tops and bare abdomens are not allowed. Also, please ensure that if students wear items with writing or pictures, that they are appropriate for school.
Other Items
Please remember that the parking lot on the left hand side as you enter the MES driveway is for staff only from 7am until 1:30pm. Your two choices in the morning if you arrive at MES are to drive through the drop-off lanes or park in the right hand side parking lot which is for family use. Thank you!
Please consider labeling your child's jackets and sweatshirts with their name. Both the playgrounds and the buses find many unclaimed jackets and sweatshirts each day, and a name would help us reunite your child with their lost outerwear.
Attendance
Daily attendance is so important. Please remember to have your student attend every day and arrive on time to school. Our goal is to get above 95% daily attendance!
We have a new system integrated with our attendance program that is making automated contact with families when a student is marked absent. If you have already called in your child's attendance for the day, you can ignore the message. If you have not already made contact, please call our attendance hotline to report why @ 760-934-7162. If your child’s absence is not reported, it is considered truant. Also note that this is a monitored line for leaving an attendance message only. You will not receive a call back.
What is the PTO and why do we raise money?
Mammoth Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is dedicated to the purpose of supporting the education and the educational experience of the children at Mammoth Elementary School. The mission of the PTO is to:

materials, procurement of educational assemblies and development and promotion of after-school enrichment programs.
2) Sponsor projects and events for the benefit of Mammoth Elementary students.
3) Strive to achieve a closer working relationship between teachers, parents and community so that parents, administrators and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of the students.
4) Keep abreast of local district objectives, and be better informed regarding local school issues.
5) Bring areas of concern to the principal and/or district school Board and administration.
6) Encourage a positive, supportive atmosphere to enhance students’ educational and extracurricular experiences.

Enrichment Classes
Dear Families,
PTO is looking for adults to teach after school classes for their Fall Enrichment Classes. The pay is $35 an hour, and you can teach an idea you have, use some science kits PTO has purchased, or ask about craft kits to use. You can sign up to teach one class, or several classes, it's up to you. The more classes that are offered, the more options there are for students. There are dates in October, November, and December. Please review the Sign Up Genius link and see what dates work for you. All instructors must complete the Volunteer Packet, available at the MES office.
