From the Principal's Desk...
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Last Call to purchase tickets for the St. John’s Spectacular: Together We Grow. It is a wonderful night for our community to come together and show their support to our school. We will have an alum, who will be student teaching at St. John’s in the Spring, speak about her experience and love for St. John’s. If you can’t attend, please consider signing up on GiveSmart in order to purchase raffle tickets, or bid on one of our fabulous silent auction items at stjohnschool3.givesmart.com. We are still accepting sponsorships, donations, and volunteers for the event.
Friday, November 4th, is the end of the First Trimester. Please make sure you are checking Option C (4-8) regularly and reaching out to teachers with any concerns. The K-3 teachers are working on “cheat sheets” for the K-3 report cards so that parents can better understand the progress of their students.
I want to wish the cast and crew of the fall play the best of luck this weekend! These students and volunteers have been diligently working since the second week of school. On Friday, students in grades 4-8 will be able to attend Hydrangea Albright: Comedy or Tragedy? while K-3 attends their Halloween classroom parties. The one and only performance of the fall play will take place on Friday at 7pm. Tickets will be available at the door for $5 each or $20 per household. Have a great night!
Sincerely,
Courtney Weinheimer

Tony's Fight - November 19
Tony’s Fight Foundation is looking for students in grades 3-8 to play in their sixth annual youth 3v3 basketball fundraiser at LaSalle High School on November 19, 2022. This tournament began as a benefit supporting Tony Even and his family in March 2017. In October 2016 Tony was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma stage 3ES with Vanishing Bile Duct Syndrome, followed by a Renal Cell Carcinoma diagnoses in February 2017. In March 2017 friends and family rallied around them, hosting a 3v3 basketball tournament to show support and help with the medical expenses that come with a cancer diagnosis. After Tony’s test results were clear and Tony, his wife Beth, and their 4 children settled into their new normal, they decided they would like to pay it forward by continuing the tournament. Together with the help from the original tournament committee, they have officially become a 501(c)3 non-profit. Tony’s Fight Foundation was started to help families from west side catholic parishes who have children in area catholic schools with a family member fighting a life threatening illness.
If your student is interested in playing in the tournament, please see attached registration form and link to the eventbrite registration site…
