Weekly Staying Connected While Apart

Week of September 28 - October 4

Dear Church -

Can you believe that we are already coming into the month of October? We've officially been in Fall for a month already. Only recently, are you starting to feel the sadness of leaving summer. Going to the river, vacation, blueberry picking, water activities, the warmth of the sun, wearing slippers, worshipping outside! But, look at these great things about the Fall ...

Apple and pumpkin flavored everything

Sweaters and boots make a reappearance

Leaves start to change colors

Pumpkin patches are the best

Classis movies come on
Football season

Reading books in front of a cozy fire

Thanksgiving

Let's not lose sight of the God who created the seasons - both in nature and in our personal lives. No matter what "season" we are in - there are good/God things in store for us.

In this newsletter - look for new ways to connect, learn, and grow. We don't want to live in any season alone - God has given us His love, a community, and a purpose - let's stay in fellowship.

Church Family Chat

Hi all! We've decided that instead of Life Groups, we're going to keep connected and grow into Life Groups in time. What is a simple way to connect? We want to do a church Family chat - grab your household, click on the Zoom link, to join us Thursdays from 6:00 - 6:30 pm to say hi and pray. It's an easy way for us to be in each others lives and hopefully keep it short enough so we don't feel online fatigue!! This starts THIS Thursday, October 1st. Here's the link.

Afterschool Program Starting

Our Afterschool program is for Grades 1 - 6. Students must be between 6 and 12 years old upon enrollment. This will be starting within the next two weeks at a rate of $325 per month/per child ($16.25 a day). For those who qualify for free/reduced lunches, the rate would be $300 ($15.00 a day) per month/per child. Please simply reply to this email if you are interested. We have limited slots but believe our youth need interaction with each other, away from their computers and online meetings. We might just change the name to the AfterZOOM program! (Thank you for the name suggestion Melanie! )

Senior Soldiership Classes on Zoom - You can still join

*** Several people are interested in these classes - so it's not too late to join. At this time, we are only doing classes on Zoom to accommodate schedules. ***

Zoom Senior Soldership/Salvation Army 101 Class on Mondays @ 6 pm, starting September 28. Taking the classes is not a commitment to become a soldier (church member) - but rather for believers to learn more about The Salvation Army and it's doctrine. We do ask that you make a commitment to these classes from September 28 - November 30 (10 meetings, once a week maximum). The classes may end earlier depending on how the discussion and instruction goes.

Click here to join the classes. The classes will be no longer than 1 hour each time.

World Services 2020-2021 (Week 5 of 5)

Did you know that The Salvation Army is in at least 131 countries around the world? Being part of this church gives us a chance to financially and prayerfully support ministry worldwide. Our territory this year is focusing on the work in four different countries: South Africa, India, Malaysia, and Ecuador. We've shared videos introducing this year's theme, the work in South Africa, and India. This week, we will hear from Ecuador. We encourage you to watch these videos each week and ask God how to respond, not only through prayer, but financially - the heart of Self-Denial/World Services.

Next week Sunday, we'll have a time of decision regarding World Services. How is God challenging you to give to this cause? Please continue to pray on what you can do support world missions.
