Thank you Godley Station families and staff for your teamwork throughout our two schools experience. All of our classrooms that were in portable units, will be inside the school building this week.

School Safety (Message sent by the District)
As we near the end of the first semester, we ask for your support to ensure we all enjoy a safe, welcoming learning environment. Maintaining school safety is a shared responsibility. School Districts across the nation continue to redirect countless resources in response to reckless behavior on social media and/or comments that suggest threatening behavior toward a school. Comments that suggest or directly state specific actions that would compromise the safety of students and staff can result in disciplinary action and hold the potential for criminal charges. This behavior creates a stressful environment that is counterproductive and in no way represents the expectations of character and positive behavior that we seek from each and every student daily.
SCCPSS takes all threats seriously and they are fully investigated. With this in mind, it is so important to talk with your students, be aware of their social media activity, listen to their concerns, and access available school wellness resources if needed. We ask that you review the SCCPSS Code of Conduct with your child and pay specific attention to our Standards of Behavior Rule 12 related to threats that create an unsafe environment. A link has been provided below for your convenience. We remind all students that no person shall cause substantial disruption to the school environment or present a clear danger to any other student(s) or school personnel.
Students will be held accountable for behavior that may adversely affect the educational process or endanger the health, safety, or well-being of other students, teachers, or employees of the school system. We remain committed to providing a safe and orderly learning environment that responds to the needs of students and fosters respect for everyone and supports our vision of teaching and learning. Together, we must remind children of the importance of good behavior that is respectful, engaged, and supportive of learning.
Every child deserves an instructional setting that makes them feel safe and that supports their individual growth and success. We appreciate your continued support so that we may achieve this goal.

Thank you parents for supporting and assisting your child(ren) with getting logged in to iReady. We are seeing students' work and positive progress on their learning paths. Students are completing on average 3-4 lessons a week with a score of 70% or better. Close to 70% of students are spending at least 40 minutes in both Reading and Math each week.
If you are having difficulty with accessing iReady at home, please let your child's teacher know so we can support you. You can also reach out to teachers to find out how your student doing on iReady and ways you can support them when they are working in iReady.
Traffic Concerns
The following messages are repeated due to the number of concerns and occurrences of students being dropped and picked up on Benton Blvd and Spring Lakes Drive. Several reports were made by community members and parents who observed the unsafe drop-off and pick-up of students to the school, Campus Police, and Savannah Police Department. This type of drop is not safe especially for students exiting and entering vehicles on the roadways.
Additionally, dropping off in the parking lot of Spring Lakes is not an approved drop-off. Once you enter the parking lot proceed all the way to the car ramp and drop your child(ren) off appropriately. Students should not cross the car rider line or walk through the parking lot as this is unsafe and not an authorized drop-off.
No Dropping Off on Benton Blvd or Spring Lakes Blvd
Last week we had a number of parent concerns about parents that are dropping their children off on Benton Blvd and Spring Lakes Blvd. These are not drop-off locations for students and present a very dangerous situation for those doing so, especially with the heavy traffic on both streets. Please ensure that you are using your appropriate drop location either the Highlands entrance for car rider drop off or the Spring Lakes car ramp.
No Dropping Off in the Parking Lot
We continue to redirect parents that are dropping their children off in the parking lot on the Spring Lakes car ramp side. This too is a dangerous situation as cars are entering the car drop-off line and the car rider line is continuously moving as parents drop their children and exit.
