Crestwood Intermediate Newsletter
4/16/2021
Hello CIS Families and Students!
We had a great week here at CIS - the students are doing great through out the day and the smiles brighten up the building!
All grade levels had class meetings this week to review our PBIS expectations and talk about the end of the year. I told the students THANK YOU for being so awesome with everything making my 1st year a great start at the Intermediate School. I would now like to say THANK YOU to all of the Crestwood families and communities for being so flexible and welcoming this year. I appreciate every one of you!
If you would like to check out the presentation that was reviewed with your child please click here - 4th Quarter Presentation
Attention 5th Grade Parents -
- Thank you for signing and returning your class registration slips back to the office. If you have not done so please do so next week. This helps with the class roster and schedule being done faster and communicated sooner.
- On May 3rd for 5th grade boys and May 4th for 5th grade girls, the district nurse Laura Ebie will be doing a presentation on puberty to your students. The 5th Grade Homeroom Teachers have given each a student a packet that includes the outline of what she will be talking about and there is a reverse permission slip for the parents to send back if they do not want their child to participate. Any questions please contact the nurse at lebie@crestwoodschools.org.
Attention ALL Grade Level Parent and Families -
- During the last two weeks of May, we will be sending out (based on grade) a video detailing what next year will look like academically and grade expectations. This video will introduce you to the next grade level. I will try to share out more information in regards to next year but we have to wait to see what protocols we have to follow due to the pandemic. Thank you again for being patient.
- PTO is again selling Edukits for next year (school supply kits). Here is the link to purchase an Edukit: https://www.edukitinc.com/schools/11926/Crestwood%20Intermediate%20Mantua,%20OH
Thank you and have a great weekend!

Extended Learning Programs and Plans
SPRING BOOST 2021:
- This program is for selected students and will help those students with reading interventions that can occur before or after school. The main office has reached out to the student families to discuss the program and plan.
- We are in the process collaborating with community partnerships and teachers to create a plan that will include additional learning opportunities for students that are showing learning gaps and create needed support for students that are at-risk.
- The summer program will consist of four weeks after school ends for the summer then another two weeks before school resumes in the fall 2021.
- The lessons will focus on Math and ELA and incorporate a PBL/Inquiry model with IXL implementation.
- The criteria for selecting students will be similar to the spring boost program and we will have two teachers at each grade level.
