Dear MHS Parents and Guardians,

As many of you may know, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has called all Districts in the Commonwealth to bring elementary schools back fully in-person by April 5th and all middle schools by April 28th. Commissioner Riley will inform districts of the latest possible return date for high schools in the coming weeks. With this in mind, Mansfield Schools is considering a late-April date for return to full in-person at Mansfield High School.

With a return to full in-person, it is important for everyone to understand that we are required to continue to provide the Virtual Remote Cohort. All students currently enrolled in the VRC may remain there through the end of the year following their current schedule. In addition, any student may elect to migrate between cohorts at any time. Please understand that the transition between cohorts may take 10 or more days to process and that cohort changes may require significant course/schedule changes. Further instructions regarding how to request a cohort change will be released shortly.

Next, all parents and guardians are invited to attend an information session for MHS via StreamYard on Monday, March 29th, 2021 from 6:30-7:30PM. A link will be sent out prior to the meeting via email accounts provided in Aspen X2. At that time I will share out the most up-to-date information about our return to full in-person as well as plans for our May standardized testing schedule, and do my best to answer your questions!

Finally, I'm happy to announce that Dr. Mills Smith-Millman from McLean Hospital who presented to parents and guardians this fall, will be presenting again on "Skills for Weathering the Storm" next Friday March 26th from 12-1PM via Zoom. This presentation is focused on parent/guardian mental health, and you are all invited. I've seen the presentation, and it was well worth my time (both as an educator and as a parent). Please look for an email with the Zoom link just prior to the presentation next Friday.

Enjoy the weekend!

Best regards,

Mary Watkins

Principal
