You did it!
Congratulations on making it to the end of the year! I am so proud of how far our students have come on their learning journey. However, just because school is not in session does not mean we stop learning. Continue to encourage your students to read, discover, and play, of course. We have all learned much from this year and I am sure that your student's educational path will be forever altered. Pickerington Elementary will continue to grow and offer amazing opportunities for the whole child during the 2021-2022 school year. Our library/media center will look drastically different and the hallways may have some added flair to help ALL of our students self-regulate their ever-changing emotions. This will all be supported by our new PBIS initiatives that will be rolled out at the start of the year. We will be focusing on Grit, Respect, Responsibility, and Being Ready aka GRRR. One thing I want to make very clear is that YOU and your family are welcome here! I want to continue to pursue many initiatives that support diversity, equity, and inclusion within our building. We are super excited for what is to come and cannot wait to invite you all back into our building. Cheers to a great school year and for what is to come!
The final achievement record of the year will be available in Infinite Campus (IC). You will view it through your IC parent portal. Below are directions for accessing your child’s achievement record in IC. The achievement record is a PDF version which can be downloaded and printed.

Ohio Adoption & Kinship Network
OhioKAN is a new statewide program designed to help kinship and adoptive families navigate and connect with all available resources. We work to help families build connections and find resources in their area by providing personalized and customized referral information. We are also able, in Region 7 (Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, Madison and Pickaway Counties), to assist with flexible funds and hard goods. The feedback from families served has been incredibly positive! There are no income eligibility requirements and we serve formal and informal kinship placements, as well as adoptive families. We are here to listen, link and empower families. https://ohiokan.jfs.ohio.gov.

Over the summer we will be placing the newest iPads in the Kindergarten classrooms and transitioning to Chromebooks for grades 1 & 2.
3rd - 11th Grade Chromebooks - Students in grades 3-11 will keep their current Chromebook over the summer. Students that will be in grades 5 and 9 next school year, will trade in their current Chromebook for a new model during the first few weeks of school in August.
NOTE: If your student(s) know they are not coming back to Pickerington Schools for the 2021-2022 school year, please have them turn in their Chromebook to the media center or they can turn it in during the VLA or Senior collection times.
12th Grade Chromebook Collection - We will be collecting all senior Chromebooks on Thursday, May 13th, and Friday, May 14th. Students need to make sure they have the Chromebook and power cord to turn on these dates. Seniors that are in VLA, please read below for your collection details.
VLA Drive Through Collection - We will be collecting any VLA student's iPads (K-2) and any VLA Senior's Chromebook in a drive-through format in front of Diley Middle School from May 24 - May 28 from 9:00 AM to Noon and 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Hotspots can also be turned in at this time.

Summer Camp Suggestions
Recreation Unlimited- Recreation Unlimited was very pleased to offer camp sessions for individuals with disabilities and health concerns in 2020. We are looking forward to continuing with camps and programs for individuals with disabilities and health concerns in 2021.
We have worked with the Delaware General Health Department and our medical team to determine the best protocols on running a safe camp. Commonly touched surfaces will be routinely disinfected, hand washing will be done on a regular basis, masks will be worn, physical distancing practiced, and daily temperature checks will be a few of the protocols being implemented.
