A Message from the Principal
Dear Wildcat Families,
The month of February has been great at Downriver STEM at Weiss! We welcomed our returning LVS students this month and the transition has been seamless! It is always great having new/returning friends in the school. I want to thank all of our families for your patience in the parking lot as everyone who came back from Lakeshore got acquainted with the many new processes. Thanks as always for your partnership with Weiss and I look forward to a great 2nd half of the school year with you all!

Welcome Mrs. Hunter (Secretary)
Also, Mrs. Hunter created this Welcome Letter to help our Wildcat Families get to know her a bit better. Be sure to check it out!
Welcome to our New Wildcat Staff!
Mrs. Martin has joined our intervention team and will be providing extra academic support to our teachers and some students.
Mrs. Slade and Mrs. Lozon will be supporting a couple of our classrooms around the school as an aide.
Mrs. Jablonski has joined Mrs.Thorington and Mrs. Hackney as a teacher on our 4th-grade team.
We are very grateful for our new staff members all the great attributes they bring to our Wildcat community!
COVID-19 Screening Tool For Families
Another important note is that the school must be notified and students should NOT be sent to school if:
- Anyone in your household is waiting on a COVID test due to a possible close contact or has tested positive for COVID.
- If your child has been in close contact with a person waiting on a COVID test or who has tested positive for COVID.
- If your child is awaiting COVID test results or has tested positive for COVID.
Throughout this entire school year, our ability to maintain safe and effective in-person instruction has been reliant on our dedicated instructional staff, strong mitigation practices, and open and consistent communications between home and school. We must stress it is imperative that positive cases, close contact quarantines, and students awaiting test results are reported to the main office immediately. If you need to notify the school that your child is a close contact, potential close contact, awaiting a test result or received a positive test result, please email Mrs. Hunter in our office at email@example.com and your child's classroom teacher.
Interested in Being a Lunch Monitor?
We are looking for a couple of caring adults that would love to help our Wildcat students during lunchtime. Our lunch monitors typically work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:45-1:45 (but the schedule can be adjusted based on availability) and get paid by the hour. If you would be interested or know someone else that might be interested in becoming a Lunch Monitor, please contact our office at 734-379-7060.
